INVALID_POINTER_READ_c0000005_r5apex.exe game crash

@EA_Kent I've been stuck with this problem for a long time during playing

When I was halfway through the game, the monitor suddenly froze,I didn't get any error message,then suddenly kicks me to desktop while in game.

I tried everything, but it didn't solve the problem.

Thanks for the update!

It seems like it might be an issue with an NVIDIA driver. Have you tried a clean reinstall of your NVIDIA driver to see if that helps?

Hi @hexerxhacker,

That's a weird one. What resolution are you playing at? Have you set a custom resolution in the command line arguments?

@EA_Kent I'm playing at 1920*1080.My monitor's resolution is 2560*1440, but my computer will be smoother at 1920*1080. And I only set an argument for fps limit(+fps_max 145).

Do you currently play with any overlays running? If so, can you try disabling any overlays to see if that makes a difference?

@EA_Kent What is overlay? I don't understand what it is.
I just remember when I was playing, all programs except APEX had closed.

An overlay is just an application that runs "on top" of the game while you're playing. Something like the Discord overlay, for example.

If you haven't already, I think it's worth trying a Clean Boot to see if that makes any difference. If there is something running in the background that could be related to the errors that may help to get around it.

For more info on how you can set up a Clean Boot check out the EA Help website. Let me know how that goes once you're able to give it a try. Thanks!

It seems like it might be an issue with an NVIDIA driver. Have you tried a clean reinstall of your NVIDIA driver to see if that helps?

@EA_Kent I tried it, NVIDIA audio & graphic driver had been reinstalled by DDU, but recently my computer still appeared some BSOD when I played, like Memory management by Easyanticheat.sys and irql_not_less_or_equal by ntoskrnl.sys, etc.

Hmm, got it.

Do you have any Autodesk software installed at the moment? I've seen some cases where Easy Anti-Cheat and Autodesk apps run into conflicts that can lead to BSODs or other crashes, so I'm curious if that's what is happening here as well.
