Is an IPV4 only connection a known issue for Apex Legends ?
My connection has been bad if not since day one, certainly since crossplay. I have tried every suggestion in basic and advanced connections troubleshoot and many other things including :
Port Forwarding
Clearing MAC address
Clearing saved game data
Clearing the cache
Updating from Xbox one OG to Xbox Series S
Complaining to ISP till they replaced some wiring and ONT
Different servers (everything <150 ping)
Changing Xbox standard DNS server to others (google, cloudfare, quad9)
Uninstall reinstall fresh copy every update
Many other things I can't remember off-hand due to my TBI issue.
The odd thing is especially in non peak hours I get a better connection with far less constant red connection symbols playing in London server with 110+ ping or Amsterdam server ping 120+ than I do stateside servers with pings of 21-89. Almost like foreign servers deal better with my older internet protocol (ipv4) ? But I'm brain injured and guessing like I have been for 3 years now. I get red connection symbols an assortment of all, the red slash line the most, overclock, and square packet loss following as most common. I get an assortment at start of every game then slash and overclock almost every fight. Non registering shots etc. I have over 650 wins with caustic alone but am about to stop playing because frustration. I'm prone to verbal outburst (tbi) and EA refuses to bring back solos so at least I wouldn't have to deal with verbal abuse and constantly being called trash add insult to injury when if game had registered even half of the 8 shots I wing manned to the face they'd call me clutch. can't even use a wingman or shotgun or any single shot weapon because 50% of the time especially close range it won't register a shot. I'm on my sixth controller at $60 a pop. You want clips I have tons. I wish I exaggerated. Is there any hope here ? I'm out of ideas other than replacing XBOX with PlayStation or computer but that's going to cost a $1,000 or more and if I do and issue continues............is IPV4 only connection an issue not having IPV4 and IPV6 ? My ISP acts like I'm crazy at this point and tries to sell me a higher tier of tech support with no guarantee of result. I've seen that comment in the endless posts I've read here for 3 years searching for answers. (My ISP thinks I'm crazy.) I've called EA and spoken to a couple Indian gentleman, while I appreciated ones enthusiasm and self proclaimed enjoyment of Apex Legends (we main same characters) it was of no help. He basically just suggested basic and advanced connection ea help troubleshoot , which I've tried. Please help if any knowledge or assistance can be imparted to solve this. If it's EA's issue I wish it would be fixed or admitted that cross play ruined it for Xbox so I can move on with my life. The instructions on how to turn off cross play remain here in help just to tease you with a hope of a dream and keep the help section packed with chafe to wade through wheatless. I love the game, but it's become the bane of my existence. I don't presume to know what it's like, don't want to make light or offend or hurt anyone (probably shouldn't make comment) but it almost feels like I'm stuck in an abusive relationship. Like why does the thing I love always treat me so badly ? I understand EA wants Apex Legends to remain a popular franchise for some considerable time. I don't see it being a thing in my life much longer unless servers (connections) improve or they at least bring back solos ASAP. I don't care how many friends you have you get stuck playing randoms.. This situation makes everyone eventually break and go toxic. I've been guilty.
