Kernel-Power error on new build

I just finished building my new PC, everything is up and running great, but APEX (and only APEX) has been crashing on launch or shortly after launch causing the computer to restart, and giving a Kernel-Power 41 (63) error.

Here is the event log, and also included my dxdiag export. I ran into the issue on the same rig before upgrading the graphics card (previously had a 970 in) and was having the same issue. I tried rolling back drivers, and also re-installing game (both through steam and origin). I also tried running in compatibility mode (win 7) / admin with the same results

  • might be too early to tell, but think a simple mobo bios update fixed this. dumb mistake on my part

  • Exact same issue did the MOBO update fix it? I have an Asus ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING
