Level cap causing badges & stats to be wiped
Like many others I stopped playing my PSN account (which according to apex tracker was level 1500) prior to the level cap increase - which means that account was stuck at level 500. All my of desirable stats are on my PSN account - this is where I have likely over 40,000 hours of playtime. I switched to PC/Steam and started grinding a new account, with the hopes cross-progression would come soon and those stats would transfer over.
I played the PC account for maybe 6 months and due to Apex events, grinding battle passes, etc. I managed to hit level 500, which of itself isn't difficult. In fact, years ago it was much more difficult with less content to grind to level 500.
Level cap increase comes out. I get interested in Apex again, and when cross progression finally comes out, I'm 20 levels above my PSN account. It merges to my PC account.
Account merge happens by highest level account, not playtime, which a huge miss. Respawn overrode my 40,000+ hour playtime account with an account that has roughly 1,000 hours and a tenth of it's stats. This also means my kill badges, stats, and all data around that playtime was wiped. All over 20 levels.
I know many of you are also in the same position so I'd love to bring some visibility to this issue. Those that stopped playing prior to the level cap increase are losing years and years of progress because of this.
Would love to see EA acknowledge this as an issue and hopefully find a way to revert to backups of these accounts or provide us with some kind of remediation to choose what account we actually want to use, regardless of level.
