Linux players getting banned
Edit: Looks like they fixed the issue causing the bans. Edit 2: EA is reversing bans and sending out emails letting you know. Yay! Hello, I believe myself and a few others got banned for just playi...
Just another datapoint: I've been playing a lot and have not been banned. I'm on Fedora 37 using Proton Experimental. I use DX12 beta and the command:
%command% -eac_launcher_settings SettingsDX12.json +fps_max unlimited
Currently using plasma desktop/wayland but I've also played with gnome/wayland and xfce/xorg.
So I just got this on my Gmail, and I guess that this mail is just automated response and I hope they resolve the issue soon.
Actually responses aren't automated, they just don't give a *snip* about us. Asked them about what exactly triggered it or which Proton version/other software is allowed and was met with different response about how they can't disclose it which is laughable to be honest. They well know we are a fringe minority and don't have to take action, just your typical huge tech corp.

As someone who has worked in customer support I know pretty much how this "full investigation" works. They have a dedicated tab that shows certain flags that might have triggered the ban. If one of this flags get raised (impossible movement, impossibly high hit count on weapons, illegal software, etc) they will basically assume that the system is working as intended and not do anything. There have been various cases of RGB case LED software have been causing bans and because the "illegal software" flag was raised they just didn't do anything about it until a big enough crapstorm was raised online.
A while ago I saw a video about some people getting banned due to a bug in certain versions of proton(-ge?) because it was causing invisible walls. He says he could find no solid proof of this but it might be related. I have only played with valve proton versions and that might be the difference.

Also since DX12 performs well for me now I don't have a need for dxvk-async. DX12 performed poorly on release (when I was using an Arch distro) but now it's a much better experience for me.
I Have been banned since 23/02/2023 for playing on a linux machine (Manjaro) via steam client (with proton-GE) obviously. As I can see now I'm not alone. Like all others I've asked for an investigation and got nothing but "we assure you that we did "full investigation" but can't show to you the proving materials that are secret". Finally found this topic and want to bring my mark here in case it would help somehow to me and others like me.
