Cross Progression Issue - Steam account does not have my Xbox account progress

Anyone else not have their steam account gain access to their account progression when migrating to PC?

Context: My Steam account and Xbox account are both tied to my EA account. I do not have any other EA accounts, and I did not just add my Steam to my EA account. My Steam account was made in 2020. I tried playing Apex on Steam in 2022 for a few hours on my laptop. It did not run well on my 7 year old laptop, so I continued to play on console.

When trying to play Apex again today on a better gaming laptop, my account did not have the progress of my Xbox account. Again, my Steam account and Xbox account are both tied to my EA account. I had my Steam account and used it before the October 2023 cross-progression window. When logging in today, I was not given an option for cross progression. An EA support representative indicated that this was a bug of some sort, and that I should type this message here so a member of Respawn's/EA's technical development team (or some development team member) could contact me about what could be done to fix this issue.

Please see my attachments for more context. The chat representative could not provide me a transcript of the chat, so I saved the highlights to the best of my ability.

If a member of Respawn/EA's game or development team sees this and is able to see this message and the attachments and assist me with this issue, it would be greatly appreciated. I am very much looking forward to playing Apex on my new computer, but I would hate to have to start my nearly max level account from scratch again. Thank you.

Hey MrrrAndersonnn, thanks for the update!

Very glad to hear you were able to get this sorted. It sounds like you've gotten this cleared up, but to confirm:

How to unlink from an EA Account. The agent said there should be no issues, but this article says that I actually cannot link another Steam account to EA account 1 after I unlink a Steam account from it. It also says that if link my Steam account to a different EA account, my progress will remain on the EA Account that your Steam account was first linked to. I am not sure who to believe.

There wouldn't be issues if the agent was able to move the account, but your reading of this is correct - you would not be able to link a different Steam account to the same EA account yourself, even after removing the other Steam. Advisors may be able to do this in certain situations.

Progress remaining on the EA account is just referring back to the fact that your content/progress is stored on the EA account level and not Steam itself, which lines up with what we've discussed before.

At this point it looks like you're seeing the content, so it really should be that straightforward! Linking platforms is a normal part of account management, and not something that would have any impact on bans or disconnections. You had to jump through a few more hoops in this situation but it's still part of that normal process and shouldn't cause any other issues. I would definitely be sure not to unlink any platforms now that everything's on the correct account, however, to avoid any future issues.

Enjoy Apex on the new platform!
