Linux players getting banned
Edit: Looks like they fixed the issue causing the bans. Edit 2: EA is reversing bans and sending out emails letting you know. Yay! Hello, I believe myself and a few others got banned for just playi...
Yeah, all of us.
I apologize for the use of "all" in my last post. I have edited that. I understand that the situation is frustrating but these things take time.
Please don't shoot the messenger. Especially one that has lent a helping hand.
No problem. I should have used a better choice of words myself.
I really, really do hope that this Linux issue will be cleared up for all, that were accidentally affected.
Keep your head up and when you can game on.
Is this a mistake?
Why is there no REASON in my MY BAN HISTORY?
They don't tell me why I got Banned.
Still banned over here. I think it's likely nobody at EAC is aware that this is still going on. The main issue is communication, since there's literally no way to get a human at EAC to investigate the issue through official channels. I think we've waited long enough that a re-escalation is reasonable, so if it is possible that someone here could kindly re-flag this issue to a CM (or possibly any other kind of action), those of us still banned would really appreciate it.
I don't think you should be making so many cases.
Even if the ban wasn't rightful, opening that many cases could work against you as they could consider it spam.
Might be better to wait for some more information related to this, though that might take a while.
If 5 cases haven't helped, making an additional 100 cases won't help either.
For that fact alone they might even not consider unbanning a person, though of course I'm not saying that's the case.
Also it's best to contact the developers that made Proton in this case, as this is something that has to be solved on their side, probably requiring them to contact EA too.
EAC is probably partially involved too, so maybe contacting them too could help.
Though making a lot of cases despite previous ones not making a difference (especially if you've been told not to make any further ones on the matter) usually will not change the outcome and in some cases it could make it worse.
Also note that a chargeback could result in an instant permaban of (probably) the entire EA account as far I'm aware, I don't recommend doing that.
I understand that but if 100 cases have passed and nothing has changed you'll have to look at other options.
Like contacting the proton devs and trying to fix this, which could result in proton devs contacting EA to get the issue resolved.
It's entirely possible you got banned for something else, like an compromised account.
Hello EA?
Any official statements about this issue that lasts for over a month now?
I actually gave up at this point. I get the same auto-generated mega bot-like replies over and over. I'm sure nobody even took a few seconds to look at my case, they just have a timer to the bot reply.
No official communication anywhere about this. Honestly, this is a joke.
Just thought I'd check in and bump the thread. I'm still banned so I'm once again asking that someone please investigate this issue, or report it to someone who can get these bans fixed. Thanks again.
I got banned two days ago, after EA reviewed my account they deemed I was cheating and won't elaborate more. Using just basic Proton Experimental and latest Mesa drivers without any experimental features, pretty normal setup for Arch. Luckily I didn't use any money on this, 250 levels or something and then randomly banned for cheating 🥳
