Loading shaders and 5fps lobby

Geforce RTX 2060 8GB

Ryzen 7 3750H

16GB RAM

WIN 11

Every time I load the game it loads shaders for 5min+ before getting to lobby. Once in lobby I get 1-5 fps for a couple of minutes, and that happens practically after every game.

When that happens my CPU workload goes through the roof and my GPU drops to the floor - don't know what that means.

I have no problems at all while in a game.

My geforce tool recommends high in every setting. I've set everything to low/disabled now, but for some reason when I try to disable Spot Shadow Detail it just resets to Low.

Apex is the only game I have issues with.

I don't know what to do.

Edit: I just realised the lobby lag happens when there's a map change.

  • So I solved it.

    My issue was that apparently Apex throws shaders at you, so I had to increase my Shaders Cache Size, which I probably should have tried way earlier considering my issues.

    For Nvidia users:

    NVIDIA Control Panel ->

    Manage 3D Settings ->

    Global Settings ->

    In the list scroll down to Shader Cache Size and increase it.

    If it doesn't work a thread I found said you can try disabling it fully -> apply and then allocate space again, apply and restart computer.

    Thank you so much for all the help @ApexMods!

  • I just did the following steps from this thread - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Map-Loading-Time-Extremely-Slow/m-p/10513941

    • i deleted the save config folder which is in (C > Users > (your user profile) > Saved Games > Respawn > Apex. Delete the apex folder.it   doesn't affect your progress just your setting.so take note of your setting before you delete.
    • Go to geforce experience and check for any driver update,if there is none reinstall the driver .Perform a clean install.
    • Go to nvidea control panel and in 3d settings > Adjust image settings with preview choose Let the 3d application decide

    And opened the game from GeForce experience, still have the same problems.
