Massive fps drop season 7
Hello, here is my problem: My apex always runs in full 60 FPS on all maps, but when I go to Olympus, there are areas that are filled with grass which make me go to 40 FPS and it's very annoying ... ...
Even my brother is getting the 3 quick micro stutters randomly (and frequent random single stutters) He had a frametime graph up.Was pretty spot on to what we are getting.
I have same Problem with Micro Stutters with new Nvidia Driver. The only Driver without micro stutters is 451.67... Test it plz
Or the Problem comes with Reflex ???
I honestly have no idea atm.
I tried disabling reflex but the issue persisted.
Also since I have a 3080 I cannot go back that far.BUT I think it may be related to another thing I found that's messed up with the nvidia drivers.
Basically from what I've gathered.Games that have reflex cannot properly use the nvidia frame limiter. You can use the rtss frame limiter and you will get tight frametimes and smooth camera movement.
As you can see the frametime keeps going up and down erratically which in turn makes gameplay juttery and not smooth (This using the Nvidia frame limiter). I noticed this issue on my 1080ti after I updated from driver 442.59 (had to go back to 442.59)
-https://imgur.com/a/6QBkBrY Frametime on 442.59 locked 141 fps w/rtss.
-This was taken while on my 1080ti w/Nvidia frame limiter https://imgur.com/a/Dy7Izn3 Frametime on any of the latest drivers on what should be locked 141 fps. This was taken on my 3080 but the 1080ti had pretty much the same frametime graph on latest drivers.
451.67 might have been the truly last decent driver before this * started.
Without an fps limiter the game is straight up not smooth either.Frametime still jumpy so looking around with the camera is still an unpleasant experience.
Thats Right, but Problem with Bad Performance is NOT FIX at This Time......
i wait of season 8 and see whats happend, if the Problem is NOT Fix
I Deleted THIS GAME........
Doing 1 last hail mary attempt.Doing a clean install of w10.If nothing changes it's the game or the gpu driver (or both) I officially give up if this doesn't work.
@L4JKANYea clean installing windows 10 didn't help. That 3 quick micro stutter in 1 issue still happens...
So far I've tried
- Tried updating Mobo bios
- Various drivers (DDUcleaned) (currently on 457.51)
- Hardware acceleration disabled in chrome/discord-
- All overlays disabled-Gamebar disabled
- Fullscreen optimisation disabled
- Disabling reflex w/ command "+gfx_nvnUseLowLatency 0" Some people are saying disabling reflex doesn't actually work but when I use the command the game doesn't cap the fps to 138 anymore so it works?
- Vsync off
- Clean install w10
So far the only thing that points me to the game is this thread https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/3080-tuf-oc-ed-same-stutter-in-apex-once-twice-a-game-w-frametimegraph.436073/page-3 where I monitored the issue with "windows performance tool" when it the issue happened and the guy who helped me told me basically its either the game/driver and that the game seems to hold to thread 0 for too long.
Could you do me a favour?Keep playing with a frametiem graph up and tell me if you get anything that looks anything like this.
It is technically a very quick fps drop so there' might be something related https://www.capframex.com/sessioncollections/f05e8810-fe09-49bb-ab6d-977fee918fc2
Is still the same , but the game runs better , that aplication from aorus caused sttuters ......
@LILmayo221That's not a loading transition right? So you're still getting that specific random 3 quick frametime spikes (1 stutter) randomly even with the Aorus application disabled but the gameplay is smoother then before?
@wiseolddudeand the answer is yes
@LILmayo221For me it seems random in every map because I've passed in the same areas and nothing happened.(It happened even inside a building once in olympus )
But if you still get 3 quick frametime spikes all at once issue then it has to be related.
I hope season 8 will be well optimized !
Still nothing, King's Canyon is ok in terms of optimization but visual effects/zooming in still causes MASSIVE FPS drops. Also tried disabling nvidia reflex, didn't seem to make a difference. I am beginning to think this will never be fixed...
@LILmayo221@L4JKANany improvement?Just updated today and I still get it.(The same exact 3 fast frametime spikes randomly)VERY randomly.Played 15 games got it 5 times total.
Also, they added a way to disable reflex ingame but that made no difference.
I tought since now we can properly disable reflex I could go back to using the nvidia driver fps limiter (like when I used to be on 442.59) But NOPE.The frametimes are still erratic with reflex disabled if I use Nvidia fps limiter.(Riva tuner works)
So wtf?so it wasn't reflex causing erratic frametimes?Has to be the driver then. There's something else in the drivers after 442.59 thats causing issues.
Anyway.I'm close to uninstalling this game.GM's here obviously can't be bothered and neither can the manuel guy in the nvidia forums.
