Matchmaking not working

Matchmaking hasn't been working for the last few days, it preprocesses successfully then gets stuck matchmaking infinitely. Normally it preprocesses then says matchmaking with no "players in queue"  section, then the number of players in queue shows up and matchmaking starts.
Lately it never gets to the point where it shows the number of players in queue which I assume means that matchmaking never actually starts, I've done everything I could think of, verifying game files, reinstalling, switching servers, running as admin, rebooting steam, rebooting PC, logging in and out over and over, restarting internet, everything and nothing has worked. 
I've tried contacting support but every single time I try it forces me into this dumb "self help" thing that just tells me to follow them on twitter instead of actually providing solutions or helping me fix the problem.
