Packet Loss

Hello,

I can't tell if this issue is because I have a new AMD PC, or if it is related to the new Season. I am consistently getting Packet Loss as an issue. I've also notice the icons for Congestion and Prediction Error show up. I've never had this issue with my old PC, which I played this past weekend.

The game is basically unplayable right now for me. Lots of lag and stuttering. Tasks take a second or two to complete (e.g., opening a Supply Bin). I am consistently getting 144fps (which is great), but I've noticed my ping hover around 50ms. I don't think the ping is the problem.

I've tried doing a repair a few times now on the game, but it doesn't seem to be working. Could my Ultra settings be affecting my experience? In looking at the temperatures, they seem to be along the lines of a typical Gaming PC (e.g., GPU was around 61 degrees Celsius). Just to see if it was network issues, I booted up Battlefield V through the EA App and had no problem playing on Ultra on the large maps (I believe it was through the Conquest mode). I'm not sure if that helps determine if it's not network or settings related.

Any assistance in this matter would be appreciated!

  • this happens on the PS5 too it’s a server issue, anytime you have high fps enabled you get this the only way of preventing right now is play on the lowest fps as what i do on console so respawn, please fix this on console as well as pc!!

  • Hey MonsterOfMash

Definitely an odd problem you have there,
Let's dive in and see what it could be; it's definitely not a performance issue. Your PC is powerful enough!
Maybe its the routing to the server that's could be a bit inefficient.

Could you try to change and flush your DNS?
This might do the trick; I'll leave some how-to steps below !😀

    Change DNS Windows 11:
Right-click the bottom left windows icon (start menu).
    Select Network Connections.
On the left you will find a tab Ethernet, here you will find an option Change adapter options.
When you clicked on this a new window will open up showing your network card, right-click your network card and select properties.
Scroll down till you find the option: Internet protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4).
Highlight this by clicking on this once and click on Properties.

Here you will find on the bottom the DNS settings.
select the Use the following DNS server addresses.
Now fill in the DNS of Google:
    Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
    Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4

Click OK and close this window.

    Flushing DNS
A DNS flush on your system is often an effective solution if you’re experiencing technical problems.
Open your Start menu and type CMD
Now right-click the window and run as Administrator.
    Now type here: ipconfig /flushdns
Wait till this is done and close the command prompt.

    Testing with a VPN Client
Another test to see the routing of your packets is to use a VPN for a few games and see if that improves your connection.

Let me know if any of these improved the connection.
