"Cruise": Double-Tap to Sprint effect. Automated forward movement until the back key (s) is used by the player.
Auto-Sprint: Enables Always Sprint whenever player moves. Never walks.
Cruise should continue until interrupted by the use of the back key (S).
Sliding and Jumping, even 180 turns, and melee etc. Do not normally interrupt the Cruise effect.
---
With both options enabled in settings, unexpected behavior occurs in its use:
Sliding disables cruise and brings the player to an immediate halt and can not be renabled until a full stop has occurred.
Conversely, If the Forward Input (W) is held during the Cruise, it will continue to Sprint post Slide,
but Cruise is still, disabled and will stop when W is Released.
Even if they expect this during the slide, the game will ignore double-tap inputs to cruise until a full stop of movement.
Must double tap after every slide, at a standstill.
In addition if player brings up ADS it continues to move the player forward, but stops on release.
This does not occur if Auto-Sprint is disabled and Double-Tap to Sprint is used alone.
- Auto Sprint enabled with Double Tap enabled, they get the use of the Double W Key Input and Double-Shift Key to Cruise,
- Always-Sprint, but will stop if they ever Slide or ADS and have to double tap again on a full stop.
- ADS will still have the player walking forward while aiming but stops movement when released. (?)
--
- Auto Sprint disabled with Double Tap enabled, will bizarrely lose the ability of the Double W Key Input,
- Do not Always Sprint, but get a full fat Double-Tap Shift Cruise-Control that continues to propel the player through slides and all jumps and climbing.
- ADS will walk while aiming. and not stop the player at all. Will continue to cruise on release. (Intended?)
By simply having Auto-Sprint on, the entire Double-Tap to Sprint setting loses functionality.
It however doesn't make sense for Auto-Sprint to alter the properties of another feature when they address completely different functions.
Auto-Sprint addresses manual input, so why would it mess with Double-Tap to Sprint when sliding?
