Randomly connecting to high ping servers

I usually play in Singapore servers with around 50ms ping. But sometimes, without me switching servers, I get connected to matches with 200+ms ping. That is usually Europe servers for me. First I thought this was because there were less number of players in Singapore, but then it started happening during peak times as well. (Usually around 6 - 11pm). This has been very annoying.

  • Hi @seniya23 To check which platform are you playing on? Also if you have a moment can you try the following?

    • Connection and Advance Connection Guides
    • Change DNS settings (You can use the public google DNS primary: 8.8.8.8, secondary: 8.8.4.4, unless there is a different DNS you would rather use)

    I'm on PC (Steam)

    • Using a wired connection and I see 0 packet losses and choke even when playing in high ping servers.
    • We use TeamSpeak and when we get thrown to these high ping Apex servers (both I and my friends will be thrown to high Ping servers), our ping in TeamSpeak is unaffected.

Changed the DNS to Google. I will check if it solved the issue and get back to you.

  • Has it improved to you? Ive been experiencing this for months on Singapore servers, 3 games out of 5 I have 200+ ping and it's so frustrating because I cant play rank knowing I'll have high ping.

It's not on your end, and don't change the DNS settings like they recommend.

I might have found a fix for it, I haven't had the ping issue ever since I did this:

Open your CMD prompt, and type in ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter. This will clear your DNS cache files.

Let me know if it helps.
