Re: 1080-TI fps randomly capping to 60 in game

Solved the problem myself for anyone else experiencing this. It has to do with the windows 10 refresh rate lock. While running obs or I assume any other recording/streaming software on a 2nd monitor windows 10 will try to lock the framerate to the refresh rate of the secondary monitor. In my case that was locking my fps in apex to 60 as my secondary monitor is a 60 hz monitor. The quick fix is to run obs on the monitor whose refresh rate you would like to use in game. I will update when I find a more feasible solution.

    Hi man,

I have the same problem but the thing is that it happened even if my streamlabs is closed, is it normal ? It didn't do that before only since the horizon heirloom update, now i have a 60 fps cap in the menu but when i go in the firing range it fluctuating in the high fps range for a moment and then go back to my initial fps cap wich is a stable 235fps cap, i have the command in steam command line to cap fps.

    Heya @Jon_Heuuss

The recent update has made it so the lobby FPS is capped to 60 FPS, this is done so players with lower-performance GPU's can cool down in-between matches to improve overall performance.

This might of course cause some fluctuations when getting into matches, though it should settle on time.

As far I'm aware, there isn't really a way to adjust this either, so it seems like the lobby fps is hardlocked to 60.
