This is only happening randomly? It doesn't get stuck like this every time you alt-tab out of the game? Do you recall having anything else running on your PC at the times where it did get stuck?

Yes, I can't understand why it happens. It hasn't happened since I made this thread and I've alt-tabbed quite a few times since then. Nothing was running apart from normal background processes like Norton Anti-Virus and Origin. Discord was also open but I've disabled the Discord overlay as I've read that can cause issues.

Hmm, gotcha.
Like you mentioned the Discord overlay can cause some weird issues, so leaving it disabled may help. Disabling the Origin In-game overlay may also help. You should be able to disable it in your Origin client settings.
