Re: AMD Phenom Crash to Desktop after choosing training or matchmaking :(

Hi dear DEVs!

There already is a AMD Phenom thread but it kind of looks like you have abandoned it since the last answer from you guys was three weeks ago.

Everybody on the thread is just looking for an answer to the question if you're gonna fix the SSSE 3 issue or not. And by answer i mean a clear "yes" or "no" and possibly a timeframe should you decide to do so.

Soooo are you gonna fix the SSSE 3 issue and let Phenom-Users (and some others) play? xD

I know you guys have a lot of stuff to do and this isn't at the top of your priorities but a simple answer to the problem would realy help a lot. For one many of us wouldn't have to check regularly if there is a fix.

Whish you all the best

BTW this is the original thread:

Please do no make a second thread to discuss an issue already being discussed @Astromath in a larger thread.

I am locking this thread, please keep discussion to the main thread.

    @EA_Darko

That other issue or thread is marked completed/resolved when it is not!

Also it would be nice if you actually looked at it and answered us. This way we wouldn’t need to make a new post!

  • @EA_Darko What a disrespect !!! 3 weeks ignoring thousands of people. I can not believe it.
    ...
Yes, there are thousands, in false youtube videos of how to solve this problem there are 15k-30k of reproductions
  • Phenom processors were designed to run xp towards the end and barely run 7,  They were never built with the intentions of running current software and game engines.  The video cards today would be so severely bottle necked by the cpu youd litteraly be just doing it to see how bad it could be.  You can't fix what wasn't mean to work in the first place.

On the other hand my Ryzen 1800x and my 1080sc crashing is important to fix since its current day tech and on par for everything.  It's not 9-11 years old.

Most of these folks are running Windows 10 64-bit perfectly, just like those guys on older Core2quads/Xeons.

Don't bring the totally compatible, latest Windows OS into this.

Also, there are people in this thread talking about 2018-19 AAA games like Resident Evil 2 remake running at 1080p/1440p and 60fps or better, using High image settings.

Does that sound like: "The video cards today would be so severely bottle necked by the cpu youd litteraly be just doing it to see how bad it could be"?

I pray you haven't convinced yourself this thread has too many responses and it's 'stealing' attention from your possible fix -

"On the other hand my crashing is important to fix since its current day tech and on par for everything."

It sucks that you have crashing, but don't lash out in frustration and dump on other threads.

the last phenom II chips were 6 core parts launched in 2010 which sold for a couple years,  while they are old , they were not "designed for xp".

Fixing this should be trivial (unless someone goofed). Its not the type of thing that should happen in the first place, simply keeping a baseline code path for compatibility , is usually standard practice, especially for games , since they are run on a variety of hardware.

these days games can end up being sold for 20 years, what happens when some of the "new" instructions at the time are dropped in future processors?  im not saying that apex will have this problem(few games multiplayer games live longer than 5 years), but it is something to think about.

"Barely run 7" Please don't pop in and be pretentious like you're knowledgeable on the subject, because in your first sentence, and thesis statement, you blatantly lied.

As for the cards being bottlenecked, we've already discussed that every other modern game that has had this issue resolved runs perfectly fine, including (but not limited to) Metal Gear Solid V, Destiny 2, and Resident Evil 2 remake (Which didn't have this issue, but still is applicable for your bottle-neck argument.) I reiterate, there are several games that had this exact issue but fixed it. So "You can't fix what wasn't meant to work" is flagrantly irresponsible, considering it is meant to work, and has been fixed in the past.

I appreciate that you're trying to contribute something, regardless that it's against my own position, but if you want to talk about it from a technical and factual standpoint, you should do a little research about it before making irresponsible blanket statements like that post.

What in heaven's name are you talking about? Seriously? Jesus * Christ! AMD Phenom X6 + 1050Ti + 8 Gb RAM (yep, DDR3, yep, 1666 Mhz) can easily run most of the newest games (without stupid * instructions)! Check this config on youtube if you don't take it on trust! End of * discussion.

I don't really know, if I'm shocked, upset or sad about the response of EA yesterday.

Not only shows it the disrespect to everyone being active on this thread,

it basically shows it to all customers, which had, have or going to have technical problems or questions about their games.

I feel deeply insulted right now.

So far I avoided to jump on the hate train against Electronic Arts.

Yes, they made some bad decisions in the past regarding some

of their franchises (Battlefield, Command & Conquer, Medal of Honor etc.),

but I always atleast tried to refuse to accuse EA for everything that has happened.

I have to be honest here:

I've only bought Titanfall 1 because of Respawn Entertainment.

Yes, they also made some bad decisions with that game.

(no singleplayer but a mulitplayer "campaign", no dedicated servers etc.)

I still liked it, but sadly it died very quickly after launch.

Now with Apex Legends I was hoping for kind of a Fortnite "killer".

What I mean by that, I was hoping to get a Battle Royal, that I

    can actually enjoy to play.

Because of its gunplay, movement and some design decisions like the

possibility to bring back your dead squad mates.

In addition I like the idea of combining it with different heroes, called legends in this game.

The infinite ignorance now from EA with support of some wise guys, trying to insult the people on this thread, sometimes with bad and especially WRONG explanations, why Respawn shouldn't support these cpus, is more than insulting to everybody in the pc community.

Yes, there always were requirements for pc games in the past.

But the big difference is one thing:

We were able to install, start and TEST the games on our pcs,

even if they didn't meet the minimum requirements.

There is a reason, we are playing on pcs.

We can adjust, tweak and if necessary sometimes overclock our hardware, so it still can run some demanding games.

Apex Legends is not one of those demanding games.

Just give us the ability to try it out ourselves instead

of shutting us down because of missing instruction sets!

That's one of the benefits of computers!

    That's it for now..

Thank you all, who support this thread!
