RE: Apex Legends BAN Illegal

I'm sorry I can't find my original posting where I complain about being accused of being a cheater. Here is my latest posting on the matter.

The "auto" and "macro" functions are on the menu provided by Steam, the people I got the game from. I was using the game as intended by the provider. If AE didn't want people using the auto or macro functions of Steam they should never have let them put the game on the GeForce NOW/Steam game streaming service menu. Their share holder share in the profits of these companies. I had zero kills at the time of the ban and it's not like I was unwilling to change my game play, I was just fooling around with my controller. EA won't even tell you why they are accusing you of cheating. They just send you a form email and tell you to appeal if you disagree. They just tell you to study the agreement. If they deny your appeal enough time they close the case and you can't even start a new one. Just so a manager doesn't have to answer another email. What are they, royalty or are they too gready to sacrifice their bonus and allow another person to work on appeals to game bans. The players are only human. What fun is it to study the agreement when you get a new game? Every controller made used to come with "auto" and "macro" functions. Now you just stick to the menus and use common sense and try to enjoy yourself.

@vl6gm8d38r05I am also banned for unknown reason but marked as "cheating".
They wont tell me why and the ToS team just closes the errands.
There seems to have been a banwave recently where they just grabbed a bunch of people and banned them.
As you said, we player do not know WHY we are banned, and cannot in any way defend our cases.

I wonder if they will ever admit on what terms they banned us.

I doubt EA will ever change its policy of banning accused cheaters without much recourse. Calling my ban illegal makes about as much sense as calling me a cheater for playing the game as it was intended. EA has a right to ban anyone they want just as players have a choice of weather or not they are going to spend money in the game or purchase other ea titles.

A no explanation why ban no way to enforce the ToS. Even the criminal code is commonly enforced using a "three strikes your out with apeals" policy. The no explanation ban isn't going to support any agenda.

No Kidding. I was under the impression that live customer service people were handling the bans and appeals. But I just came back after going online to comment on automated form letters. If there is an automated system employed by EA to handle bans it must be awfully simplistic. Any account with zero kills isn't worth banning. Surely EA can afford to put something together to weed out the obvious false positives. Accusing people of cheating is a touchy issue.

I'm not concerned with EA's efficiency. I was banned and accused of cheating. I was also told I could subscribe to EA Play for other games I wasn't banned from. But Steam won't let me subscribe to EA Play. I can't seem to get any help. I'm willing to subscribe to the EA Play subscription but I'm not having any luck. It must be some sort of account connections/linking issue. I just wanted to play some games. Who other than the EA share holders would have thought subscribing to a game service would be so serious and complicated.

Even in most jurisdictions you are given three strikes before they throw the book at you and receive the maximum sentence, ban of your account. They will even tell you what part of the code you broke. The same can't be said of EA. Steam won't let me subscribe to EA Play with a ban on the account. What's the deal? EA Support says I can and Steam support says I can't. The worst thing I did was go AFK during a game full of zero kill players. I'll avoid that situation from now on. I thought my Steam ID was offensive so I did something about it but a google search says my Steam ID means a person with specialized knowledge. Now that I've studied the ToS in detail I know better. I've been out of it for a while. Who would have thought gaming would be such a serious matter. I'm still interested but I'm not enjoying myself much.

@vl6gm8d38r05 If an operator spotted that I left the game before the match was over shouldn't be an actionable offence. The game informed me that I was doing something undesirable and gave me a 20 minute time out as a warning. I never repeated that mistake. Also, I went away from the keyboard while in the game lobby to eat dinner. That didn't spoil anyone's game. When I came back I was banned. Perhaps leaving the game running while you are afk uses too much resources on the servers but only an operator would know that. I thought that going afk in the lobby was an issue of a few bytes of gigabytes of memory. All that said I am sorry but I don't think having the book thrown at me makes any sense financially or otherwise.
