Re: Apex Legends Crash no error - PC (apex_crash.txt)

With the latest update from Monday 15th March 2021, my game has begun crashing to desktop (no error) again. It does so very frequently and randomly mid-game. I've had 7 crashes total since then, 3 within 20 minutes of another today, making the game unplayable.

Win10 20H2, RTX2080 SUPER, 32GB RAM

Steam files verified, NVIDIA driver updated to latest release that came out yesterday from the one just before it. Nothing helps.

I was experiencing a frustated thing, apex was crashing in almost every game i played. And after some research i found some very interresting things.

Some of you guys have the same crash, on different pc, different configuration. And i saw a lot of people testing it on an other machine than the usual.

But if the bug is the same again and again, however the pc, it's maybe because your internet connection is instable. For exemple, I was using a CPL for playing COD warzone and other big games online, and it was perfect, but Apex continued to crash whatever I tried. And after this, I tried to use my cellphone like a router with 4G for playing Apex, and no more crash! I played like 3h  without a crash, so it's maybe a micro-deconnection to the server and the game didn't like it and crash.

If someone could test this solution and gave a feedback, maybe the developpers of the game will show up and fix it! (i hope so).

That patch made the game very unenjoyable for me, before that I could crash a few times per night if unlucky. After the Chaos Theory update I'm crashing 5 seconds, 1 minute and/or 5 minutes after landing - every game. Never crashes in menus or while loading. I've tried everything I can think of; underclocking cpu/ram, verifying game files, rolling back nvidia drivers, updating sound drivers, adding/removing launch options (including running just four cores and many others), deleting config files and probably a few other things that I can't think of right now.

Running via Steam on an i5-9600 and a 1080.

  • Looks like we have the same rig, and I Get This issue as Well.

i’m crashing at around 2800-3000 CPU memory usage. And I have Been doing so, for the past few days.. since the hotfixed the ringflare Sound.

unbeliveable. It happened as Well during s7 When they hotfixed something with the boxing ring event. Took then approximately 2 weeks to fix the issue.

yea, same here.. after the last patch i get random crashes all the time.. lost few points in ranked because of it. same stuff happens non-ranked/pubs

  • @V1KKTR I monitored my PC while playing and decided to try downclocking my CPU from 4.8GHz to 4.6GHz and re-enable XMP in my BIOS and haven’t crashed since. It didn’t impact my fps ingame either, so yeah. Might be worth a shot, If your CPU is overclocked that is.

@NotQuinnen found a solution for me without downclocking. winkey + r -> cleanmgr -> select windows drive -> uncheck everything u really need (downloads folder for example).. after that i restarted and my problems were gone. played 5 games in a row without crash today
  • I managed to play two or three games without crashing after following your advice, not conclusive but a start.
