Re: Apex Legends Error: 0xc0000142 and EAC untrusted file :winhttp.dll

so as per all of your solutions you told to format your pc and re install the drivers again which i did and it did work but the issue appeared again . You dont expect me to format my pc every * time just to play a single game having compatibility issues with windows ?

    i use to have this same exact problem on Fortnite once they started using anti cheat for their launcher and now the same issue is occurring on Apex Legends after noticing that they have an Anti-Cheat launcher as well. I've repaired my game and reinstalled it but that doesn't seem to do anything because once i try to launch apex out of the origin launcher or from my desktop, i still get "The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000142). Click OK to close the application" Then after clicking ok, it gives another Easy Anti-Cheat tab saying "Untrusted system file (C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft.windows.gdiplus_6595b64144f1df_1.1.17134.523_none_2c2b90be8af9a424\GdiPlus.dll)"

    I don't know what else to do. i also looked up many troubleshooting videos from a month ago that had the same error code as me and none of them seem to help.

    I also verified the game, restarted my PC, reinstalled Easy Anti-Cheat, repaired Apex Legends through the Easy Anti-Cheat software and still can't get it to work.

    This sucks because i just purchased the battle pass and have been really enjoying the game but now i don't think ill be able to run this until Apex gets a new update in a couple of weeks from now!

    @HyperVFX

    If you changed any of the Windows Execution policys on security or such there's one specific image relating to memory that will cause this error

    If you changed anything like Image execution policy or the like it may Halt some librarys loading.

    @HyperVFX

    run a repair on the game from Within Origin

    Try to revert any windows policy settings ? did you disable many things in Windowsregarding the privacy options then go through 1 by one if those were in place by manual registry changes.

    If you're using an SSD maybe install game to another drive temporarily check run the manufacturer diagnostic tool on the drive it may need a firmware update As i have all samsung drives that tool is

    Samsung Magician https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools/

    Crucial tool is https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/support-storage-executive

    Kingston tool is https://www.kingston.com/en/support/technical/ssdmanager

    or whatever the drive you're using etc.

    Disable any Overclocks

    Try reseating your Ram because it's fun right.

    Check for bios updates cpu microcode related etc

    If the file is damaged it's untrusted loading into ram broken reading from corrupt drive reading from a drive with a flaky firmware in certain ways etc etc
