The problem is 2-fold from what I see, EA has not requested the correct version of Easy Anti-cheat to support Apex for the Windows 11 OS. Epic might or might not have it ready as I have put a ticket in with them and they have not answered it.
Well, the recent post I made was not correct.
Here is the fix that worked for me:well F^% me.. i found the fix...
when and if you update to windows 11opens settings, search for 'Controlled Folder access'
and then add Apex and Easy Anti-cheat
Too bad EA couldn't figure it out after multiple tickets and 2 months of wait timeWish that worked for me in Windows 11, but controlled folder access wasn't enabled. I tried turning it on and adding EAC and Apex as Allowed App but that didn't work either. Same launch but no launch issue as you.
Win 11
i9 12900 KF
RTX 3080
32gb DDR 5 6000mhz
Kingston 2tb PCIe4x4/NVMe, SSD
I guess Apex is 'old' by today's standards... Next! >>>>
- @NWeSource An update on Thursday has made this issue crop up again, but it's not tied to OS -- people reporting it on W7/8/10/11. There's a pinned post on this forum that's tracking it but still no resolutions from EA.
I have also ran into this issue. Possibly from the most recent update. I tried contacting the EA HELP group but no one was able to help. I have done everything under the sun to solve this - nothing works.
Thanks! So STEAM solved the problem for me oddly enough... neither Origin or the EA App, clean installs on a brand new computer with Windows 11, worked... but uninstalling Apex and then a clean / first install of Steam and then Apex Legends through Steam did work for me with no additional tweaks.
@NWeSourceSame issue since like last week, definitely not going to do anything else as the issue is on their end. Tried DDU, rolling back updates, repair EAC, moved to steam, disabled onboard gpu, disabled hardware gpu scheduling, disabled REBAR to test + a lot more. Apex tries to open, hangs in task manager at 240ishMB ram usage and then closes out. Interesting issue but not at all surprising with such an extremely buggy and broken game. Maybe they will get it right with the next major release but I'm not holding by breath. EDIT I have similar hardware as you so maybe it has something to do with the little/big architecture > 12700k on DDR4 with a 3060.
- @Xecuter2-_-TTV The plot thickens, debugging their own app for them, amazing.

bad coding for new architecture seems likely, will poke in bios for NX settings - @Xecuter2-_-TTV That looks you're going in head first đ ... I'm just surprised and glad Steam worked for me... you try that yet?
Just tried the Steam install and that didn't work for me âšī¸ i really hope a patch comes soon...
- @PutPut96 did you find anything by any chance?
- @Lpporsuk Nothing from EA Help. The customer service rep said they would contact a more specialized person about it, but no one has contacted me.
One of my friends suggested uninstalling and re-installing Windows...so maybe I'll give that a shot soon. Seems risky though. FINALLY fixed this, the issue comes down to their hastily implemented "new" anticheat they added 2~ weeks ago. It is not liking a certain driver or program installed BUT they did not code it to show the user which driver or program(LOL). The way I fixed this was to download Autoruns from Microsoft and removed everything unverified under the drivers and services tabs. There will be drivers for old stuff that can be removed and a lot of this is time consuming looking up each driver, it will not allow deletion of MS drivers or anything important from what I can tell. Before doing this it would be ideal to make a system restore point just in case.
Adding image for context. I had tons of old stuff from old motherboards, old anti cheats, old software. I removed everything unknown and only kept what devices I currently still use. It is basically mandatory that they update their coding to pass the information to the user so they know WHICH DRIVER is being flagged as a problem. Please EA.
- @Xecuter2-_-TTV I used AutoRuns to delete the items marked pink in the driver bar. When I entered the game, my account was banned
- @xyp9xCS It's not possible to get banned when deleting drivers or cleaning up your system... Sounds like you were caught cheating but you can message EA and see what they say.
- @Xecuter2-_-TTV Players who used the same method as me also received a ban, but some of them have restored their accounts. After I contacted EA help, they insisted that I was cheating. It's ridiculous. I started playing this game in 2019. Even though the PC platform was full of cheaters at that time, I played it until my account was banned. I was really disappointed with EA. I have given up this game and all EA games.
- @Xecuter2-_-TTV of course, I know that deleting a driver cannot receive a ban, so I will delete this driver. But in fact, after deleting a driver, I will receive a ban
