I had the same problem but for me to clear the cache (maybe they have changed the way to do it now?) I had to:
1. Go to the start menu
2. Type EA
3. Open file location
4. Run "App Recovery"
5. Clear cache
This did not fix the problem though, I had to stop the EA Background Service from the Task Manager to be able to get it up and running.
I hope this could help someone with the same problem.
