Re: Can't ready up while with squadmate

@PatanteAGoss_FOX

Got it, thanks!

You should be able to change the DNS through your Windows TCP/IP Settings. You can find more information on how to get there over at the Microsoft Support website. If you choose the Manual option it will let you enter a DNS of your choosing. I usually go with the public Google DNS (Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8; Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4), but if you'd rather use a different one that's OK as well.

If you're able to give that a shot let me know how it goes. Thanks again!

  • Hey @EA_Kent I've tried the DNS updates and unfortunately, this still didn't fix my ready-up bug. Any other ideas?

    Thanks for giving it a shot!

    Setting a static IP address can also help with issues like this. The Port Forward website has instructions on how you can set a static IP address in Windows. If you're able to give that a shot as well please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks again,

    Much appreciation on the help so far, but even with a static IP, I seem to be running into the same issue.

    @Snipely

    Thank you for giving it a shot.

    Do you have access to a mobile hotspot? If so, I'm really curious to know if this same issue still happens while you're connected to a different network. If you're able to try connecting with a hotspot to test and see what happens I would really appreciate it.

    Let me know how that goes if you're able to give it a try. Thanks again!

    The mobile hotspot makes this incredibly difficult to test. I don't get enough bandwidth on it.

    No worries! Thanks for giving it a shot.

    When you've got the chance would you mind running a UOTrace so we can take a look? That will give us a more detailed look at the connection between your home network and the servers, so if there's something happening in between we might be able to spot it.

    You can find more info on how to run the test over at the EA Help website. Look for the section in that article titled How to run a UOTrace. Once you have the results please send them to me in a direct message.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for sending over those results.

    The UO Traces look pretty good. I don't see any measurable packet loss, and the ping stays pretty solid throughout. Which datacenter are you usually connected to? If you switch to any others does the same thing still happen?

    /Kent

  • Hey @EA_Kent ,

    I usually connect to Iowa - GCE(1 - 4). It still happens when I switch over to Salt Lake City.
