Re: Cross Progression: I have 2 EA Accounts. What do I do?

Hey @ManInTheBox404,

While you'd be able to unlink one platform and try re-linking it to the same EA account, as you mentioned this will cause a loss in progress.

The progress and cosmetics you've unlocked are stored on the EA account, so if you have two separate EA accounts and a different platform on each, there won't be a way to combine that progress I'm afraid. One of those will be lost depending on which platform you unlink (if any).

If you're wanting to make use of Cross Progression on these accounts going forward, you will need to move one platform or the other to the same EA account. That won't bring content from your second EA account, but you would have access to your main EA account content on both platforms from that point forward.

  • Thank you for responding.  That is unfortunate and I reckon it will become a big issue for the Apex Team going forward, especially for those with older accounts.  Thanks for being honest with me though, I am still glad that I will be able to play with my console account on PC.

    Have a great day,

    Jack

    @xdziczaczoo123

I rarely say "never" as there's no accounting for how things may change in the future, however currently Cross Progression is focused on making sure that players with multiple platforms on their EA account are able to access that same content and progress regardless of which platform they're using on the account.

As far as I'm aware we currently have no plans for completely separate EA accounts to be combined.

Now I'm concerned because what I'm hearing will be able to merge my account that's link to the EA account for me I started on playstation but my account got hacked and stolen and I unlink it from my playstation but its still connected to my EA account even dough I unlink if from playstation now it's the Same EA account that's linked to my xbox so will I be able to merge and get all my cosmetic? if I already unlink my playstation account but its still connected to my EA account?

  • hello ! i have a question, so i have an ea account that’s linked to my psn account and to my steam account, i linked the steam account today and when i restarted my pc and went into apex legends all my progress was lost now i’m wondering do i have to delete my steam apex and download it on ea ?

p.s i’m also wondering when the cross progression comes to apex will the progress from my ps5 account in apex transfer to my ea account apex on my pc ?

  • Ok so to confirm, I have two ea accounts. 1 was used for PlayStation and the other for PC would i be able to just log into the ea account i used for PlayStation on my PC and just play from there with all my data from PlayStation Apex? I understand that I wouldn't benefit from account merging because of the two different EA ids. I don't mind the fact that my pc progress won't be saved because In have not spent anything on it because I just made the switch.

  • I’m sure I’m not the only one here who feels this way:

when I added apex to my switch I already had an ea account associated with every other gaming device I own- I was not allowed to connect that account to apex on the switch. This has been something I have always been frustrated with.

when hearing about this update regarding cross progression I was excited and relieved that I’d finally be able to have my switch connected with the rest of my devices.
I have now only been met with more disappointment from ea as usual.

I have probably spent over $200 on my switch apex account for skins, characters, and other purchasables that I have no access to anywhere else- that I will continue to not have access to.

It is incredibly discouraging to hear that there are no plans whatsoever to fix this issue as it seems most of the people exited about this update are in the same boat as me (forced to create multiple accounts and now unable to merge) and have been painfully misinformed and let down.

I don’t want to have to remove that ea account from my switch to allow cross progression if that data and progression would be deleted. money I worked hard for and spent on characters, skins, coins etc. will be gone forever, some content being limited edition that I can’t get now on my main ea account.

it is an understatement to say I’m upset- as this was the main attraction for the new season. I haven’t been playing apex much recently but I was really excited. Not any more. Thanks ea!

it feels as if the only reason this feature won’t be implemented is due to the fact that those with multiple ea accounts (THAT THEY DIDNT HAVE A CHOICE IN MAKING) spend money on their desired characters, skins, etc, multiple times across said accounts to be able to play with these characters across platforms, and will continue to have to do so due to their inability to join into cross progression update. Seems like a money grab to me.

If you (ea) are the reason people were unable to link their devices to the same ea account- forced to make a new ea account- then it would make since to try to fix this issue and include those people into this update to resolve the mistake. Instead you have lead people into a false hope and didn’t even state anywhere in the public announcements about the exclusion of this (may I say, majority demographic) in this new anticipated update.

  • SInce there was years in between me getting a gaming pc from playing xbox, as one does they create a fresh account knowing cross progression was never going to be  athing years ago. That being said can i just gift everything to myself?

this is literally what i was just thinking...... how can these devs be so dull yet so successful.

  • if i unlinked my steam account to this current ea account and put that steam account on my xbox ea account would i still get my cross progression items

@DarkCarnage324 No if you didn't have those accounts linked where you wanted them before the 26th . Which was the day they announced it was even a thing which is horrible on them, then you aren't eligible since you linked it unlinked after the 26th

Yeah, this is a major L. I'm in the same boat.

  • Can anyone help me? I have this exact same problem except for the fact that I already linked the accounts but into the alt EA account so I lost progress from my PS4 account, but now its locked for unlinking for 6 months, I went trough EA live chat support but it got nowhere and honestly my support person was pushy and unwilling to help.
