I’m sure I’m not the only one here who feels this way:
when I added apex to my switch I already had an ea account associated with every other gaming device I own- I was not allowed to connect that account to apex on the switch. This has been something I have always been frustrated with.
when hearing about this update regarding cross progression I was excited and relieved that I’d finally be able to have my switch connected with the rest of my devices.
I have now only been met with more disappointment from ea as usual.
I have probably spent over $200 on my switch apex account for skins, characters, and other purchasables that I have no access to anywhere else- that I will continue to not have access to.
It is incredibly discouraging to hear that there are no plans whatsoever to fix this issue as it seems most of the people exited about this update are in the same boat as me (forced to create multiple accounts and now unable to merge) and have been painfully misinformed and let down.
I don’t want to have to remove that ea account from my switch to allow cross progression if that data and progression would be deleted. money I worked hard for and spent on characters, skins, coins etc. will be gone forever, some content being limited edition that I can’t get now on my main ea account.
it is an understatement to say I’m upset- as this was the main attraction for the new season. I haven’t been playing apex much recently but I was really excited. Not any more. Thanks ea!
it feels as if the only reason this feature won’t be implemented is due to the fact that those with multiple ea accounts (THAT THEY DIDNT HAVE A CHOICE IN MAKING) spend money on their desired characters, skins, etc, multiple times across said accounts to be able to play with these characters across platforms, and will continue to have to do so due to their inability to join into cross progression update. Seems like a money grab to me.
If you (ea) are the reason people were unable to link their devices to the same ea account- forced to make a new ea account- then it would make since to try to fix this issue and include those people into this update to resolve the mistake. Instead you have lead people into a false hope and didn’t even state anywhere in the public announcements about the exclusion of this (may I say, majority demographic) in this new anticipated update.
