Re: Crossplatform friends not showing up online

@jimbojangles27 -Also, to add, none of us live together or are using the same internet.
-None of our EA accounts are sharing an email address.
-My Xbox account is not a child account.
-Crossplay is enabled on my xbox network settings.
-Crossplay is enabled in-game for all 3 of us.
-We tried removing each other as friends on our EA account and refriending each other.

I'm sure we have tried and checked more but I'm blanking. Please help.

@jimbojangles27 You can try to join the same Portal match and look at the played with list. Re-add via the list and see if invitations go through. The only other thing is verify your Xblive is still linked to your Origin account online. Otherwise that's all I know to get this to work. I have 2 friends it isn't working with on Xbox (due to not linking Xblive to Origin) and 1 on Xbox it is working (has linked Xblive to Origin). All of them are on Series X consoles too. If I immediately try the trial on my Series S it just works.

@juandeagmeisterUnfortunately your issue isn't the same. The PS4 and Xbox One version is NOT the same versions as Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. The Xbox One and PS4 versions are not compatible with the PC version. This is known and been stated since before launch. Last gen 64 player maps and current gen 128 player maps.

You might be able to add friends when this situation is fixed but you won't be able to join each other's games still since they are different versions of the maps.

  • Could someone verify the above, please? My friend can find and invite me from PC to PS4, just I am not receiving anything. >Battlefield 2042

@radiant_kai Thank You. A legitimate answer. Very much appreciated. Downloading p4 version right now
  • @radiant_kai So my brother and I got on the other day and tried that for about 2 hours but whenever i was able to search an ID he would not be able to find it and vice versa. finally we found someone that we could both search but then my brother could join the server but i could not. that got me wondering if it is a server issue, but that wouldn't really explain not being able to search for each other using our EA ID's. how is this not being addressed by EA? i'm not buying their game if I can't crossplay and i know i'm just one small fish in a humongous pond but hopefully there are plenty more people like me not willing to buy such a broken product.

@jimbojangles87 I've try to add my friends from the EA app on my Pc, where we should see everybody, but i even there i can't find any of them.. Surely a major Issue, EA are good at this bs.
  • Why is it that every game nowadays is broken on release? I've poured through these forums and reddit looking for a fix for this problem but whenever EA answers they post the link to the same page, mark it solved and move on. Then theres always the replys to their comment saying it didn't solve it at all but of course EA never responds back. How can they expect people to pay for their unfinished product? Especially when it comes to Battlefield, where I'm sure a lot of people are like me and get their enjoyment from squadding up with their friends and playing different roles.

But inviting friends should be a basic foundation of any online shooter. When I search for them on the BF social page, their names don't even show up. I'll be sitting by my PC with EA Desktop open (or Origin...or neither...tried all 3 ways) where I can see from there that they are online playing Battlefield, but the social page on BF shows nothing. Then I can jump into apex and my cousin will too (him on PC and me still on Xbox series S) and we can see each other on there and join each other's game so how come it works there?

And what pisses me off most about the situation is that they won't address it. They just tell everyone crossplay works new gen or old gen and that was it

I legimately have an identical issue to you.

The comments here asking you to check the legacy devices, new devices are distracting from the issue. I'm running PC to Xbox Series X (my friend) and we cannot see each other. We're linked on EA play and Origin (both BF2042 and Apex issue). If I go back to my Series X - we can see each other. Same accounts, all linked, different platforms.

I cannot find a forum that knows how to fix this problem and it's been a substantial period since your post.
