Re: game attempting to launch with optional parameters

Hi @dubkone

Thanks for sharing your info!

Just to confirm, were you able to try a Clean Boot to see if that makes any difference? You can find more info on how to set one up at the EA Help website

Also, I am curious what would happen if you tried launching Apex Legends through a different Windows User account. If you need more details on how to create a new User check out the Microsoft Support website

If you're able to give that a shot please let me know how it goes. Thanks again!

  • It just happened to me and had to google it. A simple steam restart fixed it tho, not sure if it'll happen again or not.

This is happening to me, I have tried everything, I have done both clean boots, verified files, windows and game, restarted my computer and updated my drivers, still nothing i get the error code form EAC and Steam. Its very annoying.

  • The same thing is happening to me after updating steam, tryed everything you guys said and game wont launch, seems it's happening to lot of people by the twitchs comments

I've been having the same issue, tried all the fixes, nothing. I think its an issue with the steam update to be honest.

  • Just to confirm what everyone else is saying, I was playing Apex earlier today without a problem but tonight Steam Self-updated updated Steam client and when I try to launch Apex I am getting that exact same error message so this huge blunder is definitely on Steam devs.

@JodiAnneeeee yes, I have seen it but replacing and editing files can lead to flags

StanleyTheChimp didn't work for me, game closes after respawn presentation
  • Lucky asf, I've done multiple clean boots, reinstalled 7 times now, each time on a different storage unit. Just deleted my WHOLE STEAM LIBRARY along with steam, 2,500gb+ down the drain, I've set compatibility mode to every version of windows, tried disabling fullscreen optimizations, tried setting to run as admin, tried compatibility troubleshooter, changed launch options, verified integrity after every single change, even tried dumping a copy from my laptop onto my pc. Next step is to throw this fancy azz brick out the gd window and take my happy self to the bar xD

  • @Kshack28Go into your program files, click easy anticheat folder, click on Right Easy Anticheat and "Run as Administrator", uninstall from options on the window, reinstall, Game should work

EDIT: Do this with Steam closed

already do this and didn't work for me

  • Go to local installation files, select the r5apex and EasyAnticheat_Launcher, left click, select properties , choose compatibility , check the Run this program as administrator. Do this to the r5apex and EasyAnticheat_Launcher only and you'll be good 🙂

    Hey folks,

    Thank you for the updates!

It looks like the Steam update was rolled back because of the issues that were happening with EAC. If you're still having any trouble getting Apex Legends to launch please let me know.
