Packet Loss

Its been a reoccurring issue for quite some time now. i play any other mode perfectly fine high fps low ping 0 packet loss. i hop on Ranked and i get 20-80 packet loss making the game stutter and be completely unplayable. I've tried resetting internet. changing DNS. called my isp (all fine on their end). changed servers. i play every other online game just fine ultra settings 0 ping 0 lag but apex Ranked lobbies are just a coin flip will i get a 0 packet loss game or not. And more often then not its always having packet loss. i can already tell is im getting a bad game in the character select screen the packet loss icon appears. Ive scoured the forms and ALOT of people seem to have this issue and no solution or fix had been found or posted. please i like the game but this is slowly making me not want to have anything to do with apex anymore.

It sounds like you've already gone through the usual troubleshooting steps without much luck, sorry to hear. Have you had this happen in all modes, or just a specific mode?

I do see you've mentioned the us-east datacenter - while you'll have a bit higher ping, does this change at all if you switch to a different datacenter and play a few matches? If you're only seeing this on us-east, that'd be a great detail for us to be able to note.

What would really help from this point is if you're able to get a screenshot of the server ID when you connect to a game that's experiencing this type of packet loss. If you turn on the display at Settings > Gameplay > Performance Display, this should show up in the upper-right corner during a game and show both packet loss and the server ID in addition to some other network info. 

It doesn't sound like this is due to your hardware, but if you're able to grab a dxdiag along with the Performance Display screenshot(s) that would be excellent info we can pass along to check into the particular servers running those matches and see what may be going on. Thanks!

I’m having the same problem with my brother. I’m playing on pc and he’s playing on his ps5. The only way to fix it is going to fire range for a couple of mins. Apex sucks

Glad to hear this can somewhat be reset by visiting the firing range, though that's certainly a disruption when you're in the middle of playing and not ideal.

If you're having this issue regularly even after going through all the troubleshooting steps mentioned earlier, grabbing a screenshot of the Performance Display so we can track the specific Server ID with those issues will help us look into things further. Thanks!

I play on Xbox and have xfinity every time I get into a game i have the shield icon in my performance display and I get packet loss I have never had that problem before and all of a sudden I get it I had xfinity change all the cables in and out of my house and got a new router and still pops up and I can’t play ranked I can play pubs and the wildcard but no ranked what is goin on I have been playing apex since season 0 and i played with friends and never laged either please fix the problem 

And it also don’t make sense that my friends have xfinity and they don’t have any problems playing the game

EA_Mako​ for the past two weeks on series X I have been unable to play the game. Every single game that I queue into has 75 packet loss until there’s about five squads left and then it stops. Is there anything that can be done about this besides going to the firing range? It’s become absolutely unbearable to play the game and I know it’s not my Internet by the way if this helps, I have Xfinity and I’m connected to the NA East Data Center. Before this my ping was about 25 but now my ping gets almost up to 130 every game and shows at about 50 in the lobby. Video attached (yes this happens on all Maps).

Yes…since beginning of March. I have Xfinity internet. East Servers. Packet loss 30s-80s. I can play other modes with no issue. Ranked I’ll maybe get 1 game out of 10 without packet loss. Beginning of March I had switched to Central Servers and it seemed to work but then mid March it was the same. Other modes are fine, Rocket League and Fortnite also fine. Had Xfinity techs come out and put new underground cables and they ran their tests and everything is good on their end. This issue is solely on Ranked servers. 

When playing ranked on PC, I'm experiencing extreme packet loss that essentially renders the game unplayable for me. I'm on east servers and have xfinity. I am connected via Ethernet and have run packet loss tests while experiencing packet loss in game and the test does not show any packet loss. I don't get packet loss in any other game. It seems like a few others are experiencing this issue but I haven't seen anyone on the EA/Respawn side acknowledge it yet. Am desperate for a fix because I'm really enjoying the state of the game overall.

I did try switching to central servers, and that does sometimes help. I usually won't get packetloss while on central servers, but it does still happen occasionally.
