@xxCROCOP88xxThis worked for me, but I had to do all of them, not just the last one, and I had to restart once.

Before my shader recompile only went back to about 5.5k, but after this setting change it went back a little further, like 5.2k. I wonder if this forces a recompile over a now-incompatible shader?

edit: no I think its not a recompile thing, switching the settings back returns the freezing behavior
