Re: How does my specs compare to the minimum?

Your graphics card is insanely weak for today's games.

Even when it released in 2015, it was never intended to be a "gaming" card.

It's a replacement for on-board graphics basically.

It's a $40 graphics card.

To put it in perspective, the most common "average" GPU these days is the GTX 1060.

The 3D Mark score for the 1060 is: 12726

The 3D Mark score for your GT 710: 781

Rofl.

Sorry man, it's beyond weak.

Today's "entry level" gaming GPUs, the GTX 1050 and Rx 460 (about $120-$160), both perform 500-600% better in benchmarks than your card.

You will NOT be playing Apex in any playable fashion.

What about the CPU? I knew my GPU was prehistoric anyway. Also, I hear the 1050 isn't the greatest for gaming, and I've been told several times to go right to the 1060.

  • If you're comfortable with overclocking a bit, you could bump your CPU clock slightly.

As for the 1050, it's best to get the 1050 ti. The regular one isn't so hot.

Or jump straight to a RX 570/580 or GTX 1060 to see very nice improvement.

Which is more worth my money, the rx or gtx? Also, thank you very much.
  • A pleasure.

That's a toss up. The 6GB version of the GTX 1060 is a favorite (it's faster than its 3GB counterpart).

The Rx 570 or 580 are nice as they come in 8 GB flavors.

Some may argue that 8GB is overkill for 1080p gaming, but we're seeing more and more games that use A LOT of VRAM when played at high or ultra settings - even at 1080p.

If you are indeed using a 1080p display here, honestly you're golden with either the GTX 1060 or Rx 570/580.

And technically you'd be alright with the (cheaper) 3GB/4GB versions of those cards, but they won't be nearly as future-proof.
