Re: Possible AMD driver bug causing Anti-Cheat bans.

How they were able to miss this in testing and determine that these competitive games with sensitive anti-cheat are compatible is beyond me. Worst of all this "experimental" feature should not default to enabled, but I'm sure it does so the gamers who never tweak settings don't miss out.

We users should not have to wait a month or be the guinea pigs. They should have played these games for more than 2 seconds, just to ensure they do not crash I bet, and their test accounts would have got banned before ever thinking about shipping one byte of code to thousands of customers with expensive hardware.

Update: While it is still not excusable for failing to see how Anti-Lag+ would run afoul of anti-cheat it is looking more and more like AMD was able to develop and enable the feature for Apex Legends some time before the first ban waves occurred. I would be very surprised if their own accounts were not banned at this point and it does not feel great to have them post "based on reports" instead of confirming the issue flat out which would make them look worse as is deserved.

    @waylandsmithayy Don’t worry AMD will be reimbursing every penny that I spent due to them getting me banned if this isn’t fixed
  • Well, looks like this more and more the issue... This is really frustrating. Has EA or a Respawn Dev been contacted that could look into this?

    @DeathFox21 With this being a big thing with Valve and a lot of users are becoming aware I have good faith in EA to unban us that have been caught up in AMDs problem, if a dev could comment on this post letting us know that their team knows and is working on it, would make everyone life alot better! 😊

  • Thanks for the response. It's a nice feeling to have an official response about this. I can't remember if you were around more recently or the last couple of days discussing with users about this. 

    I know it's a hard situation for all involved and there's no way for users to really know how the process is gonna workout behind the scenes with EA/Respawn/AMD/EAC in regards to Apex Legends. 

    But knowing that the team may possibly dig deeper into this issue is very nice.

  • I got banned on an account with 1100+ hours and a cash purchased heirloom for absolutely no reason and support was no help.

    My new 2nd account also got banned mid-game at level 11 with the same error code😕nake. I haven't disputed it on that account yet but my roommate also had the same thing happen (both running 7900xt with anti-lag+ enabled" and he disputed the case with EA's *FANTASTIC* support and he was actually unbanned.

    I started a 3rd account and I'm at level 13 but now I'm confident within due time it will also get banned because of this. As of today I turned off the feature in Adrenaline but I don't think it's going to help me out. COD and xDefiant cannot come soon enough.

    Screw you Respawn for dismissing every single support case I've created as if I'm some sort of cheater/monster when I've done nothing wrong besides buy AMD and have a random new feature enabled without my consent.

    This really needs to be top priority right now but support seams to not give a flying frying pan since I'm supposedly a "cheater"....

  • @EA_Mako Hey and thanks again for letting the team know about this issue but I issued my 3rd dispute to be unbanned and was wondering if this gets declined, will I be able to re dispute?
  • @yyyyatox  That is a great question because my buddy got an email after another appeal stating they’re done investigating and the issue stands, do not appeal again.

    I tried getting him to make an account or send me the info and he’s just so angry at this point he’s done with it. I’ll try again but it is a brand new all AMD system.

    1800 hours and decent money gone because of this false flag.

    I completely understand how he feels, I had 1400 hours in Apex myself.

    That said, this is AMD's fault pushing an update that turns on a feature that bypasses the games dlls. This will definitely get flagged by anti-cheat, that is on AMD not working with developers beforehand.

    Granted, if EA communicated with it's customers better (forum managers have been great, ToS not so much), this could have been identified and a resolution put in place sooner.

    Hopefully we will hear an official announcement from Respawn or EA soon. Then we will be able to dispute the ban and get our accounts back.

    @GrimGaming21 Was just declined a third time but I can still dispute they told me not to bother it’s final but it isn’t atleast from me

    Hey Folks,

    Positing this to raise awareness.

    My account was recently banned and after seeing other posts and others experiencing the same thing I believe I have the same issue.

    It looks like AMD 7000s series is effected at the moment with anti-lag being detected

    A lot of issues are in Counter Strike at the moment but more and more players from Apex Legends are experiencing the same issue.

    I have been playing Apex for a couple years now. It is a game that  I have invested a lot of time,commitment  and not to mention the amount of money I spent on skins (I am weak to deny myself of the pretty digital cosmetics). I would never cheat at the game as I'm not willing to throw all that away for nothing. Recently, I upgraded and bought a new PC. I went from a 1650 super to a 7900 xtx. I was banned on  the 10th of October and I received my PC just a day or two before that. On the 9th of October is when I started setting up by installing steam, apex, discord. essential programs one needs. And some time in Apex getting used to playing on a new device and setting up keybinds etc. 

    So it really did come as a shock when i found out I was banned the next day. I remember going through the GPU settings after playing the night before and seeing the setting for the AMD Anti-Lag and deciding to disable it but I guess i noticed this just a bit too late. I have tried disputing my case but have been told it is final and will no longer be considered.

    I post now hoping that it will raise awareness of the problem and to hopefully have my account unbanned.

    Same, ban for cheating

    7900xt and anti lag+ ON

    i have contact support by mail twice : "we confirm your ban"

    i have contact support by chat : they escalated my issue to support and i have to wait for answer...

    this is a big joke !! 

  • I've had the exact same response! Bought a new 7600 and had Anti-Lag+ enabled. 

    The customer service has been an embarrassing joke.

    Refused to explain the ban stating they don't discuss 'internal procedures' the ban history webpage has the ban reason left empty.

    So left in the dark and now every ticket is just a scripted response saying my account will not be investigated again. 

    Valve have tweeted saying they will reverse the bans. 
    I wouldn't hold my breath hoping EA will follow suit.

    This is the most up to date information about the now growing issue with AMDs Anti-Lag+ feature causing false bans in at least 6 games.

    Apex Legends is one of the 3 mentioned to have the most players affected.

    I think this issue is multi-faceted but ultimately it's AMD's Anti-Lag+ feature that is causing the falsr bans. It'll prolly be a while for EA/EAC/Respawn to fix this. Most likely it'll be EAC who will have to overturn the bans with EA supplying the information to them.

  • I'm in the same position, I have disputed twice. First time I didn't have any idea why I was banned, got refused. Second dispute told them about this and still got refused and it is final.

    Don't know what to do now. I guess it is time to move on.

  • Amd release new driver to fix anti lag+ for CS2.
    Valve will unban player soon.

    But EA sleep... No communication.
