Re: Possible AMD driver bug causing Anti-Cheat bans.

Also got banned last wednesday while using AMD's Antilag feature on their 23.9.3 drivers. Both appeals got declined and received the same response as everyone else.
Just hoping for the best and a fast solution that makes everyone happy..

@EA_MakoThe chat functionality of the support site doesn't seem to work. I can't email you guys, or start a chat, and I have already had an appeal to lift the ban rejected. I confirmed AntiLag+ was enabled, and have since disabled it. Having something as trivial as an official driver setting cause an irreversable ban seems insane. What else am I supposed to do to get my account back?

Also got anti-lag+ ban on October 12th,and my appeal was also refuted twice.

I have no idea what to do now....🤨

I was also permanently banned and had two appeals denied. Now we wait.

I reached out to a Respawn Dev, RSPN_Thieamy, over on reddit and they said the issue was investigated and false bans connected to this issue have been reversed. Any bans that remain active will be for a separate cause.

I went and checked my ban history and it still shows that I am still banned. Does this mean I need to file a new dispute now that the issue was looked into? I filed two disputes initially before the problem was identified and I do not want to file my third until I am sure the error has been resolved and the ToS team is fully aware.

Any update or guidance you could provide would be most welcome.

Clearly this is not the case. It seems those swept up early are not getting their due attention. Perhaps EAC quickly put out an update to improve logging so false bans can be recognized since it does update every time it starts up. I don't expect any official statements beyond buried cryptic social media and forum posts to clarify the issue.

Hate to say it, but I think the anti-cheat haters are right and I might never again let myself become invested in a game which uses them while the processes in place to dispute what are legitimate false positives yield nothing but automated dismissals from the company and derision from the community a la "if you don't want to get banned then don't cheat". Maybe Valve stuff since they are much more communicative and seem more willing to help.

Nobody should be losing access to their accounts with thousands of hours spent and priceless unique in-game items and stats collected because they decided to upgrade their GPU for a better gamin experience only to get the exact opposite, permanently, with no help in sight.

Edit: to all those who remain banned, if you stay that way you are the "acceptable losses" of doing business in this way and I implore you to think about that next time you consider buying a product from these large publishers.

From what I've gathered Adrenalin 23.9.3+ at minimum is affected [confirmed to have the feature*] when it comes to Apex which came out around the end of September.

This leads me to believe that you and others posting in here were part of the first EAC ban wave that had a little lag time for whatever cyber sec reasons as there are a lot reporting they got an email in the middle of the night hours or sometimes days after they played the game last saying they were banned. Some did not even notice until the next time they launched the game.

Just to clear up some confusion in when Anti-lag+ was released and I will share my research on this topic:

Anti-Lag+ has been an available feature for Apex since Adrenalin Edition 23.9.1 which released September 6th. Apex was a launch title for this feature (Link to what Anti-lag+ is and what it does).

Adrenalin Edition 23.9.2 was released on September 20th.

Adrenalin Edition 23.9.3 was released on September 26th.

Adrenalin Edition 23.10.1 was released on October 11th and later recalled after Valve's tweet.

Looking over the release notes only suggests Anti-lag+ added to more supported games, there are no notes saying fixes or alterations were made. That doesn't mean there weren't changes, just nothing made public.

My best guess is that Easy Anti-cheat has been flagging Anti-lag+ users, monitoring and building a profile for what it believes is an exploit since the feature has been released. Or since some unannounced  update changed some parameter that triggered EAC to begin flagging users. Few weeks later, it begins to roll out bans after it has built a profile.

That said, this is my best guess... We won't have a definitive answer until we get an official update from someone at EA or Respawn.

Per my previous post in this thread, I had reached out to a Respawn Community Manager on reddit but, either there was some miscommunication or they didn't really read my post and assumed it was related to a prior Linux issue... I reached out again asking for clarification... Guess we'll see.

If any EA Community Managers could please provide an update to this issue, it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I am still banned as well. Got ban email late night on the 9th. This is frustrating because I play Apex to play with my friends and now I cannot play with them. 

So RSPN_Thieamy has responded to my questions on reddit.

Anyone who has only filed ONE dispute, can you please file a second dispute mentioning Anti-lag+ and your AMD GPU? Remember to be polite and please report back on your results.

Not that I don't want to trust the Respawn Community Manager but seeing as I only have one dispute remaining, I would very much like to confirm the ToS team is updated on the issue...

As for people who have filed three times and got locked out, is there an option for you to dispute again? Or will we need to hear an EA Community Manager about those cases?

I went ahead and asked some follow-up questions and will report back when there is a response.

I also made a post on Reddit relaying RSPN_Thieamy's information and that will hopefully confirm people are being unbanned.
