Re: Unusual Cross-progression

Yeah I know all of this. what im saying is that this kind of cross-progression should improve in the future to be like any other game with cross-progression that works perfectly at any time. Instead, EA made it 'limited' due to the limited time we had to create and link before it launched.

Stupidest cross-progression ever if they do not change it into a more normal one.

    Hm, I don't really understand what you are saying?

    Cross progression works just fine, it's now that they are trying to merge people's many accounts into one "main" account so they don't have a seperate accounts on PS, Xbox and PC.

    If you mean that, you simply want to use your ps4 progress on PC, then that's what's happening right now 🙂

    Also I don't understand you saying "limited", It's not in my opinion it's there to prevent people from simply farming easy apex packs as you do get them more commonly at lower levels. It's there so that people don't get for example easy 100+ packs "free" packs

    Hi @michinoire,

    Just to clarify, progress can never be transferred between different EA accounts.

    Linking your account prior to October 26th would have made no difference in this case, as it was originally linked to a different EA account.

    Since progress cannot transfer between completely separate EA accounts like this, that still would not have been possible to transfer regardless of when that was unlinked.

    We have a bit more information on this in the FAQ below as well as what @rallen1518's correctly stated.

    A Quick Guide to Apex Legends Cross Progression - Answer HQ (ea.com)

  • Im talking about the same EA account. not seperate accounts. I did my reading and research about this. yall saying nothing new.

    @michinoire

    It's not true as it has been states many times that it's not a date of inability to cross progress but rather a cut off point of progress being eligible to merge but okay 🙂

    Also if you are saying that you know the topic better than us, what's the point of making a post? You seem to be well informed

    Okay since you're struggling to get the point, the new season trailer released on the 23th of October and any account made or linked after October 26th will not be eligible for cross-progression.

    Meaning, only 3 days for players who do not have an existing account on another platform have to go and make one and link it. And that is if they want to play on another platform like PC etc. Otherwise they will not get their progress later on that other platform.

    get it now??

    If you do not have the issue, dont respond to this post. I clearly mentioned i would like to discuss it with those with same problem.

    @michinoire

    🙂
    1. The 23th October season's tralier didn't come with any crossprogression info. We got that with the gameplay trailer which [Suprise] came out on October 26th along side the official blog posts regarding cross progression. Any info that is on the "Ignite" trailer was added later on (or rather blog post was changed to include additional info)

    2.It has been stated many times by CM's that it is indeed a cutoff point of stuff being merged not a complete lockout of crossprogression as that would screw up most of the community.

    3. This does include me as I also unlinked my steam acc to link it ot my PS4 EA account so I can use that on my main Steam account and not do 2nd one just for Apex.

    So next time if you're trying to prove a point at least do your research right.

    Have a nice day/night.

    Hey @michinoire,

    It sounds like there's some confusion here, though fortunately this is in your favor.

    You've stated that accounts made or linked after October 26th will not be eligible for Cross Progression, but this is incorrect.

    Here is the original statement you're referring to in this case: Cross Progression in Apex Legends™ (ea.com)

    Note: to prevent exploitation, any secondary Apex Legends accounts created after Oct 26th for the same EA account, will not be eligible to be merged.

    This is talking specifically about merging the content from platforms on the same EA account, not the ability to have Cross Progression.

    If you had a PSN account linked to your EA account and then attached a PC account to that same EA account, you will get Cross Progression and have access to your PSN content whether on PlayStation, PC, or any other platforms you link to that same EA account in the future.

    The fact that you attached the PC account after October 26th makes no difference in the ability to get Cross Progression. This just means if you were to make progress on that PC account before the Cross Progression merge takes place, that won't be combined with the progress from your PSN account.

    TL;DR If you're just wanting to be able to access your current PSN progress on PC, you haven't missed anything and will be able to do so once Cross Progression arrives for this account over the coming days/weeks.

  • I contacted an EA Help agent and asked them about it and literally told me im not eligible for cross-progression bcus my account was made and linked after the 26th.

    if both you will not believe and continue this discussion please see yourselves out. This discussion is only for those with the same unfortunate result as me.

    and that makes it even worse lmao without any heads up for it. Refrain from responding to this post ur such a headache.

  • Since both of you are deaf, heres the chat with the agent saying im not getting cross-progression.

  • @rallen1518 @EA_Mako @Michinoire

    I think I know where the confusion is happening here, what @Michinoire is asking about, is if she created a new PC account on Steam and connected it to an already existing EA account with a primary account with  LVL 100 on PlayStation  ( as an example) will she get the same LVL 100 progress on her recently created and linked PC account ( after the October 26th )

    and I see the answer from @EA_Mako was somehow clear

    "This just means if you were to make progress on that PC account before the Cross Progression merge takes place, that won't be combined with the progress from your PSN account."

    "that won't be combined with the progress from your PSN account." = I believe what Mako means by this is that if any progress is made with the PC account that you recently created and linked after the 26th  (let's say you were able to get to LVL 20 on Steam PC account and you got 2 skins that you don't own on your primary level 100 PS account) these two skins and lvl 20 progress from PC will not be merged and you will lose it ( this is called account merging )

    But, you will still be able to keep and continue the progress you made on PS which is LVL100 and you keep all your items and can use them on your Steam account / PC

    so basically, your original account (which in this case is your PlayStation with lvl 100 ) will be the main account/(items inventory) on every platform account you link it to the EA account in the future ( this is called cross progression )

    I hope @EA_Mako corrects me if I'm wrong because I had the same question when I first read this thread

    @maximas1986

    I also think that's the case.

    What's the point of the crossprogression if you don't give people time to prepare (The October 26th cutoff) when you know this feature will bring a lot of players back to the game, and just say "lolz not our problem Rip bozo"

    I think wording of the crossprogression news leaves a lot to be desired, for a time I ALSO thought that I was screwed because I had 2 EA accounts and if I try to do anything with them it won't work (Thanks to AHQ I just did things that will allow me to use all my PSN progress on PC, as I don't really care about my current PC progress)

    BUT

    If what @michinoire provided and what the EA agent said is true, and YOU won't be able to enjoy crossprogression after you linked accounts after October 26th, then i'll be in a lost of words because like I said already, what would be the point of it if like 30-40% of the playerbase (expecially some console bros who had their EA account automatically made and they didn't really give it much thought) can't even enjoy it.

    Also now that I think about it:

    Note: to prevent exploitation,

    I wonder, what kind of exploitation? The only "exploit" I can think of right now is just farming easy apex packs to get an easy Heirloom, but other than this? I have no idea what other exploits can be used with cross progression.

    I think either some official news to clear that dillema would be something nice.
