When you link your gamertag to a different account, all your content and progress is lost. You'll need to link it back to the old account to get everything back, but you'll have to wait 6 months to be able to do that again.

I'm having the same issue after linking my PlayStation account with my Xbox account. Is there any way that i could bypass the six months wait to unlink my Xbox account?

So to clarify…..XBox Live was unlinked accidently and cannot be relinked until after March 5, 2024?

@Baphomet6664420 Contact support through chat here. They can relink the account for you. You don't have to wait until 2024.

lose all that progress and 4 mythics etc….spent a fair bit of $$$ on this Apex Legends game. Will not be back if not corrected but fingers crossed.

hey, I know this is unrelated issue and not sure if I'm allowed to post my issue here, but I made my own thread 2 months ago and have no replies. I unlinked my EA and Steam, linked EA account to a different Steam (should've done my research), and now I can't link back the old EA and Steam accounts anymore. It's been 6 months and it says the EA is already linked and I can't link them. Support says they can't force it and I haven't been able to play Apex in half a year at this point. Is there a way someone can brute force the accounts to link? And I will have my account data back? Sorry for posting in someone else's thread, I wasn't sure if anyone would respond even if I made a new thread.
Community ManagerI'm very sorry, but we're not able to help linking/unlinking accounts over Answers HQ. If support can't help with this then nothing can be done.

Seems like when I go to EA Help I end up chatting with a AI bot and go full circle and after confirming my accounts are linked we end on….
” I would like to inform you that as far as concern with Apex it a currently an ongoing issue the game getting crash and our team is working on it to fix it.”

Community ManagerYou previously mentioned unlinking your account. Support can't assist with this since you will need to wait until the date you're seeing before linking again.
@EA_Aljo EA help says the account is linked and why doesn’t the message say “relink” after that date instead on “unlink”? Screenshot attached with green check beside my user name indicating IS linked
Community ManagerSince you can only unlink an account every 6 months, you'll need to wait until that date is hit before taking that action. Which is why you don't see the relink option since you need to unlink first.
@Baphomet6664420 you can try contacting support through chat here. Explain your situation and they may be able to do it. It has worked for some people!

We don't currently have any other options. I absolutely get the frustration, but we also give warning that this will happen. In the future, make sure unlinking accounts is well researched before doing it.
My son also made this mistake. The “fix”, waiting six months and then sign back in does not correct the problem.
His menus are all still grayed out and the game is basically unplayable. Hundreds of dollars waisted.
EA won’t even answer emails anymore. They have his money. Why should they I guess.

I am having this issue as well without ever unlinking an account. It started for me when I logged in to my new ps5 using the same playstation account I have always used. All the Tabs are greyed out unable to make any purchases or track progression.
@EA_Aljo I'm sorry, but this is absolutely unacceptable. If unlinking a console account from it's EA account completely breaks everything associated with those accounts, then there should not even be a way to do it. I don't even see what benefit you would get by unlinking and linking to a different EA account at this point. Not only is all of my purchased content completely locked away with no way to access it now, but the game isn't even playable under the new EA account as everything is just greyed out.
Not to mention all the money that you have collected from players for in-game content that they now have absolutely zero way to access because we can't relink our console accounts with the original EA accounts that has everything on it, and we can't log into those original EA accounts on the console any other way. So essentially you've taken our money but refused to provide access to the goods for which we purchased. This feels like a class action lawsuit waiting to happen.
On top of that, I see no benefit to EA for this policy, as I've already seen multiple people swearing off the game now, myself included, if some remedy is not provided. This is not financially beneficial to EA, as we have and would likely continue to purchase more in-game transactions if this were not the case, and as a result will lead to lost revenue.
I know you personally aren't making these decisions, but someone higher up at EA needs to address this. With the cross progression system launching I've seen countless others on this forum and other forums that have been affected by this issue as we tried to bring all of our console and PC accounts under one EA account in preparation for cross progression, and it seems an easy fix on EAs side. Just drop or temporarily waive the 6 month lock out period to allow those that unlinked accounts to restore their original connections.
Apologies if this comes across harsh, but I get a little upset when thousands of dollars of goods I've purchased is suddenly taken away from me without any kind of compensation or refund.
