Ryzen Owners Tips n Tricks
so i have seen the huge amount posts from alot of different pc users... i have no experience with intel at this moment getting Apex to run better then what it is but with Ryzen i have came up with this and it is the best i can figure out without actually doing something against ToS and Game Breaking...
Apex is built on a modified version of the Source Engine so it accepts different Commands to launch the game some are disabled VIA DEV Tools ect some are exploitable bannable etc...
these HOWEVER are complelty legit and offer only system smoothness and stability
go into origin go to apex properities and launch options in the field below enter the following commands i will explain more as we move along....
1.) +exec autoexec -preload +fps_max unlimited +cl_showfps 4 -forcenovsync -fullscreen
2.) you will now need to locate the r5apex.exe usually a shortcut on your desktop to launch the game....
3.) right click the apex icon and open file location...NOW you are in the APEX directory
4.) LOCATE THE FILE NAMED CFG and open it
5.) Now OPEN NOTEPAD and copy and paste the following
hud_setting_minimapRotate 1
r_fullscreen 1
mat_screen_blur_enabled 0
r_particle_timescale 3
mat_compressedtextures 1
cl_ragdoll_collide 0
r_dxgi_max_frame_latency 0
6.) CLICK Save as "ALLFILES" NAME THE FILE "autoexec.cfg" and SAVE IT to the apex cfg folder
7.) Right click Apex on your desktop go to properties and DISABLE ALL FULL SCREEN OPTIMIZATIONS! click save!
these settings eliminate FPS Spikes.... decrease latency timings between your client and the server side of the game and rotates the minimap as you turn..... it also compresses the textures to load faster as your moving into different zones in the map to give you a more reliable transition with out fps spikes.. it also reduces screen tearing and the blurring effect that rotating fast can incur. i.e. "moving your mouse in a 360 quickly creates this blurring effect"... it also forces the game to be launched in full screen sometimes it has a tendenicy to not launch correctly?
this also removes the fps cap off 144 and lets you hit the celing of 300 fps ... be warned tho apex is glitchy over 215 fps i think this is due to the 20hz server tick rates and the frames not syncing correctly .. anyways alot of matchmatics involved in fixing that one you move faster then what you should or end up porting around like you have lagg so i cap my frames at 191 even tho i run a 240 hz predator
so in the end you lose some crispness to the settigns but gain a stable more consistant frame rate along with adjusted timing to the apex servers....
I ONLY CAN VERIFY this is what I run on my ryzen 7 1700 and ryzen 7 2700x both enjoy these settigns compared to stock settings and act way more stable.
so if you have other systems and these dont work as well as they do for me you know not to use settings that improve ryzen performance.
and to end this i would recommend that you watch some youtube videos and figure out how to edit your reg files to make your gpu more tolerable to apex modified source engine
apex is a cpu hungry game making your gpu run in a higher pripority over your cpu gave me another 30 fps and droped my cpu usage to around 7-12 % when running full out now vs 50-60% load spikes.
search "reg edit make win 10 faster for gaming"
I hope this helps some of you that have a laggy expereince even with better systems then what it asks for i know after about 20 hours of research and trail and error this is where i stand
its not even comparable to the same game anymore its super smooth 🙂
SOME games i knew i was hitting targets they just didnt reg i couldnt do any damage all though i seen numbers flying now i can pull off 1k games easily and down a guy in a single r301 clip if ya head shot him lol
playing apex is great.... but really playing apex is EVEN BETTER!
