Stopped my crashes by changing CPU vCORE VOLTS

Hello community this was my crash before EXCEPTION_BREAKPOINT: 80000003- I changed my voltage on my cpu which was set at 1.3 i believe and changed it to 1.5v ...

I did that last night to my computer and my brothers and we haven't had a crash in in over 20 hours of playing... Maybe this will help someone ill keep you posted on anything else.

  • Thanks for helping about but my intel i5 4690 runs at 1.077v. I'm reading alot of articles as to not go above 1.4volts it could be bad for cpu in the long run.. What type of cpu do you have?

Increasing voltage does help with the games bad optimization, but 1.5v is too high, try setting it lower. Don't know what CPU's you and your brother have. but as already said 1.4v is considered to be max safe voltage in most cases so don't go over that voltage or you might degrade your CPU.

  • yep. I got crashes every 1-2 games so i tried like everything and the end i underclocked my ram - boom - 0 crashes.

    ***WARNING TO OP***

Umm, you may have been fine for 20 hours, but I guarantee that if you continue to give 1.5v to your CPU, your next crash will be permanent!

Unless you have a really old 8-10yrs old PC, where the voltage requirements were a bit higher back then, I strongly recommend you reduce the voltage to something reasonable, not surpassing 1.4v max as a general rule of thumb but it really depends on what CPU you actually have.

Another thing you need to be aware of is, setting 1.5h doesn't mean you will only use 1.5v, as when your CPU is under heavy load it can spike to 1.51v-1.55v.

You will last a few week, maybe even a few months if you're lucky, before you'll start to experience the signs of Silicon Degradation.

I only increased my core voltage by 0.15 and no crashing now! also u can try avx offset of 2 or 3 and you will be fine! 1.5V will melt your cpu don't do it!
