Streaming Apex breaks Discord
Any suggestions on a fix is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.
I save all of my packs until the end of season, I get anywhere from 50-70 packs depending on how much I play and the events; anyways, my friend likes to watch me open them at the end of every season. I stream Apex to Discord and for some reason my Discord freezes. Not the application itself, just call. On my second monitor it shows that my mic is actively on and shows that my friend is not saying anything; however, my friend cannot hear anything and I can't hear anything either. I can click around on Discord so I leave the call whenever it happens and try to rejoin. When I rejoin it just gets stuck on "RTC Connecting" and even when I restart Discord it still gives me the same thing. I have to restart my ENTIRE computer just to get a call to work properly again. I can stream any other game to Discord but Apex makes my computer * itself; sometimes it even blue screens my PC and it refuses to restart on its own making me manually shut it down.
I have tried updating drivers but it still does this; I have an i7-9700k and a 3060 ti, not sure if that will give any ideas for a fix but yeah. Apex is the only game on my computer that either breaks Discord or breaks my PC itself; both Origin and Steam versions.
Not sure if I explained that well, I will try to clarify on anything I can.
Hey @seulesss,
My first thought is there might be a software issue of some kind that's causing this to happen.
What happens if you start your PC in a Clean Boot before you launch Apex Legends? If there is anything else running that could be causing this that might help to get around it or narrow it down. You can find more details on how to set up a Clean Boot over at the EA Help website.
Let me know how that goes once you've had the chance to give it a shot. Thanks!
