Sorry to hear you’re running into that.
If you and your friend can both queue solo but get stuck on matchmaking only when grouping up, that does sound more like a party or session issue than a general connection problem.
A few things may be worth trying first:
- Have both players fully restart the game
- Disband the party and recreate it
- Switch party host and test again
- Try one more grouped queue after both players have each completed a solo match first
