I finally found something that worked - turning off Nvidia Reflex:
- Open the Origin Launcher.
- Go to My Game Library.
- Find Apex Legends and right-click the game.
- Select Game Properties.
- Click the Advanced Launch Options tab.
- +gfx_nvnUseLowLatency 0 to disable NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency.
Let me know if it works for you!

This is really grieving my RP and I'm going to fall out of pred because it's just too terrible to play.

Wanted to make sure this is not just a complaining thread so took a couple of days to make sure:
wiped PC, reload all, loaded suggested drivers. The same thing, the game is broken for me.
My question with all the respect: why an out of the blue optimizing patch? There was nothing wrong with the performance? I was locked at 151, probably close to 200 if not locked to monitor refresh. I now do 90 fps, this is not even real, cant be. An optimizing patch doing this?
I have spent a fortune on this game over the last 18 months. (Welcome to check my account), only to find one day, a little 30meg "optimizing patch" to do this? Im sure it is natural to be a little bit more than just pissed. (Please go check how much money I have spent on this game, you'll be surprised)
So now this patch is forced on me, can't roll back the patch, so what now? At least Nvidia drivers can be rolled back, or is this the deal? Sorry, I'm still very suspicious about this little "optimizing patch", does not make any sense.

Anyway I can have proof that the problem is with the servers, I have a critical point on the map where the frames droping to 80fps,once today I had at this place 200+ fps and I didn't change anything, gpu usage increased on the map 80-100%. everything was back to "normal" at the next game. ☹️
- 5 years ago@wongcung same here, wasted my time by resetting whole PC thinking it was on my side just for the same thing to keep happening. That "optimized patch" messed up my frames as well.
i9 2080ti here and I drop to 70 fps in fights or even lower but every other game I tested, frames are thru the roof. - 5 years ago
yesterday I noticed a strange thing..reinstalled my system and used windows insider preview fresh dev version.. game worked fine at the start - full locked fps in places where there was a drop before ..but...the drop in frames began in the middle of game. playing on desktop, watching my temp/used in msi afterburner so it isn't thermal throttling. anyway, after two hours everything was back to "normal" - drops to 90fps. I do not know what's going on..I have never experienced anything like this. As i said - probably just servers.

I just feel like when it comes to an "optimizing patch" it should come with a roll back / uninstall function.
I mean really.
What is I to do now? Pray season 7 is "optimized". This is nonsense.

I have also been searching countlessly for an answer. I have done almost everything and coming up with no new results. Has anyone found a solution?

Okay, trying to change this into something constructive>
Feedback: So I have noticed today, that some textures not loading. Il approach a bin, and it would either load textures slowly, or not at all.
And there are huge drops in FPS all over the map.
Have 3400 hours in this game. You can take my word for the above. Something went wrong in a big way.

Hardware: EVGA 1080TI
Driver: NVIDIA 456.55
Problem: Micro stutters in movement and some textures not loading.
To me this problem has to be something with the game as I have had no issues until 3-4 days ago (Tuesday 27th patch). I also have 3200 hours in the game so I can tell if this is a real problem or not 🙂
NOTHING has changed on my system and this problem appeared around 3-4 days ago. My FPS is fine 120-165 (165Hz monitor) depending on where you are on the map, but this is normal. Latency is fine 20-30ms. But there are micro stutters in movement. You can clearly see the stutters running in a straight line in the firing range or map. The character "twitches" every couple seconds. If you have an heirloom you can see it even better. There is no positive effect with any of the below changes I have tried:
1. Clear game/origin cache (https://help.ea.com/en-in/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games)
2. Game repair
3. Disable Windows "Full screen optimizations" on Origin and Apex executables
4. Changed NVIDIA low latency mode from on --> ultra --> off
5. Change monitor refresh from 165hz to 144hz
6. Cap frames to 160 or 140 via origin advanced game options.
7. Cap frames to 160 or 140 via Rivatuner.
8. Tried NVIDIA drivers 457.09
9. Turned off NVIDIA Reflex via Origin advanced game options (+gfx_nvnUseLowLatency 0)
