I've seen many with this issue but none of the solutions suggested have worked for me. The Microsoft fix 'sfc /scannow' does pull up an error but says it can't correct it...

Download the tool, do all your Windows updates, along with any associated GPU driver updates after the Windows ones, restart your PC and play.

Nah dude, it's literally just Windows update, the same thing that should happen in the background on your PC every couple of weeks. Rather than your OS doing it by default in the background, this is a dedicated tool that bypasses what ever problem caused one of the last updates to halt future updates. This in turn will make sure that all of those pesky GdiPlus.dll files are up to date and thus, Easy Anti Cheat won't smell a rat.
It's not a third party updater either, legit Windows Updater tool from Microsoft's own website. It sorted my week-long problem out instantly.
