Win7 dropped?
Can we get some clarification from respawn on use of windows 7 after the last patch as I haven't been able to login since thursday last week now.
i was able to start the game on win 7, after installing KB4534310 win update; but after that the game suffer of stuttering, that makes it unplayable.
I have the same exact problem, and would like Windows 7 guidance as well. I am on a Windows 7 machine, and I run the game out of Origin. After the update on Wednesday 27.7.2022, I got a message saying "Your Windows 7 system is too outdated. Please install KB4534310". I did that and now I can launch the game. It doesn't crash me out, but when I move the mouse it causes the game to stutter, or pause. Even in the loading screen and front lobby. Matter of fact, I can move my mouse fast in a circle and get the game to pause or "lock up" as long as I'm moving the mouse. Once I stop moving the mouse, it unpauses and goes back to normal. The keyboard doesn't cause any problems for me.
Do note that support for Win7 has been discontinued by Microsoft.
This puts your computer at a great security risk.
Now a recent update has messed up some things, this will probably be fixed in the next patch.
Though if this is not the case, then it might be likely that Apex is dropping Win7 support.
(Which is unconfirmed)
Removing unverified drivers has fixed this for some users, though this isn't a fix that has been reported to work 100% of the time.
@XHelperZ, I get that Windows 7 support is discontinued, and that compromises security. But I'm hoping it's unlikely that Respawn/EA would intentionally abandon it's Apex players running Windows 7 without some sort of communication or notification in advance. Or, at least they shouldn't. Especially ones that have paid money into the game. It appears that a lot of people are having this issue and it still warrants a resolution somehow, other than just "update your OS". If that's the official response from Respawn/EA, then so be it. But that is going to frustrate a sizable piece of their player base.
