Hi all, with today's patch this issue should be resolved and you should be able to use the skins again.
Fixed issue with Gibraltar Epic skins on Xbox One causing crashes

EDIT: just read other replies and yes, changing skins seems to work.

IT IS WORKING FOR ME NOW kind of.
tldr: it works normally as long as I don't play Gibraltar lmao. Note that he was my featured legend before/after the update. Try setting a different featured legend before matchmaking.
Full set of events that led up to this discovery in case any of them are actually the solution:
Updated Apex Legends on Xbox One S this morning. Logged in. My featured legend was Gibraltar. I got matched and then found the freeze and hanging audio during the kings canyon loading screen. Repeat 5 times. I try rebooting, no dice. I reinstall the game. My featured legend is still Gibraltar. I try to play, same crash with same freeze and hanging audio. Then I set my featured legend to Bangalore and match. I play a full game, all is normal. Now after that game, my featured legend is Bangalore, and I can still play games without reassigning my legend; HOWEVER, if I reassign my legend to Gibraltar I crash again just like before 😂.
QUICK UPDATE TO THIS WHOLE THREAD: ISSUE IS RESOLVED BY CHANGING SKINS TO ORIGINAL ON ALL LEGENDS!
Me being a Gibraltar main as well, was not giving up until I was able to play him in game, turns out for some reason you cant use UNLOCKABLE skins on him if you want to play. As long as you use the ORIGINAL skin, everything will load fine!
I said I would spend $100 if this skin change worked, and Im living up to my promise lol
Edit for @IchapodCrane; Ive got Gibraltar as my featured legend, so long as he's in the original outfit, it loads fine.
Mine is doing the exact same thing I hope this means they aren’t taking the thicc boy out of the game
You have to use the original skin on Gibraltar and before you match make you can’t select Gibraltar. However, you can select Gibraltar after you have match made with a team in the pre-match character selection screen.
