Xbox to Steam Cross Progression Question
Firstly, this is not me asking “when am I getting cross-progression” and I have seen the posts saying do not unlink, although I may have found those posts too late. I played on Xbox and had an EA account linked to that account, but my Steam was linked to the wrong EA account. I unlinked my main Steam account from this EA account, and linked it to the correct EA account. I’m a bit worried about my Xbox progress getting lost because of this, as the common sentiment seems to be “don’t touch anything until you get the in-game prompt.”
Will my Xbox progress transfer over to my EA account, and therefore to my Steam account, even though that Steam account used to be connected to a different EA account, or will I lose it all?
The data of the platform account you relink will be lost.
In your case this means that you'd lose your Steam data, though your Xbox data should stay intact.
Once cross progression rolls out, you should be able to access your Xbox progress via Steam.
