Bullets and rockets travel fast but I don't think they travel *checks notes* 2,500 m/s (8,200 ft/s) (approximately Mach 7 at sea level).
It's true 2042 isn't a true sim but I don't really see a realistic approach to stopping something traveling that fast without explosives or propellants.
- spudbug2 years agoSeasoned Ace@TTZ_Dipsy For gameplay balance there needs to be something that MBT players can do other than hide against the tor
The TOR's turret speed is so slow its usually pretty easy to out maneuver it. It's ammo pool is very slow to reload as well.
I would never choose the TOR over the MBT myself.
- Hudson15312 years agoSeasoned Ace@AlkaniusRUS I hate to say it..
Prob needs another nerf
Slower recharge and reduce turret speed again.
To be honest 99% of games I have been in who ever uses this tank just camps rarely seen anyone drive into a flag or capture point - ATFGunr2 years agoLegend@Hudson1531 Further nerfs will not entice a player to leave his spawn. The tank is basically garbage. Good mobility, powerful shot, but the pause on firing, reload time, etc all take away and I can see why people sit in their base with the darn thing. Making it reload even slower will guarantee spawn sitting. The opposite has to happen, it needs to be marginally survivable to let players get out of the base and into the mix. Reduce the power maybe but give it a shorter reload. Or faster turret traversing. There are ways to buff and nerf to make it a useful weapon… but I’ve also learned these devs don’t have the ability to do that. They’ll nerf it to death or simply take it away.

1. This is a passive siege tank that stands on the hill of its respawn and shoots wounded animals with impunity. There is no need to explain anything here, since it will not work to get to it with a tank or arrange a duel, you will be definitely destroyed in 8 cases out of 10.
2. His presence makes attack helicopters unplayable (KA-52 and Apache). Due to the large hitbox and low maneuverability, an attack helicopter will be easy to catch with an EMKV90-TOR shot. And most importantly, when you try to attack the ground, you generally become an easy target for EMKV90-TOR. You say, so you need to destroy it first. In most cases, the EMKV90-TOR is under the cover of anti-aircraft guns. To destroy an anti-aircraft gun with an attack helicopter, you need to make demonic efforts, unlike the NightBird. In most cases, your attack on the EMKV90-TOR position under the cover of anti-aircraft guns is doomed to failure. For this reason, I personally have to take the NightBird in order to help my team in some way and not just drain the helicopter. Although I really want to show off on (KA-52 and Apache).
I think that the damage to the attack helicopter from the EMKV90-TOR should be reduced to the values of G-84 from the Fox

ha ha ... You talk about justice, and with your other hand you climb into the neighbor's korman. How then to explain the ability of a helicopter to fly inside a tornado and stay alive?!
If we talk about realism, then first of all EMKV90-TOR does not exist, even the Chinese do not have it.
This is a shooter and not a war simulator, and balance should always come first, and only then a comparison with reality.- TTZ_Dipsy2 years agoLegend
Fair enough. Lol I actively tried flying my nightbird into the new easter egg tornado and was surprised how well it held up in the debris.
I've essentially T1'd every vehicle other than jets so maybe my perspective is a little biased. TOR is certainly devestating in power but I truly think it's slow reload and AoA make it fairly balanced.
The light it emits should probably be seen at a greater distance like sniper glint but all it takes is for an air vehicle to fly sort of high (which they should be doing anyway) and at medium to close distance it becomes a paperweight.
You could reduce total charges or reload but that would only make the one useful mode camp more - Mobility mode is already a 3 hit mode so you cant reduce damage and requiring a 3rd shot in Seige would make that mode pointless (there is already a ton of "dusting" in this mode anyway".
Combining both modes into 1 might work but that'd need some testing.
