Banned on multiple platforms and accounts for refunding
I can't actually believe I'm typing this. I purchased EA Play Pro (PC) on 13.11.21 so I could finally play a new, modern Battlefield game. Me and my friends have been hyped for months to get together like we used to in BF2, 3 and 4, but alas we all felt utterly disappointed in the game as whole. Not just the bugs, but the design decisions that have been raked over many times by many others. I decided at the end of that first nights play, which amounted to about 4 games due to constant persistent data error to refund my play pro sub.
I spent two hours in EA support live chats to be told that it was against policy to give refunds, so I decided to take the case up with PayPal and open a dispute. The refund was eventually issued, and on the very same day I received an email from EA saying that they've cancelled the sub and also CLOSED THE ACCOUNT. What? Why? I had other games on my origin account that I'd purchased with my own money, not related to any sub, why are you taking these away from me too?
OK, I thought. Fine, it's very petty and childish for a huge company to spite unhappy customers in this way, but whatever. So I fired up my PS4 to play BF4 on there instead, guess what? BANNED on there too! Now, for clarity. My origin account was on email address A, my paypal account and PSN account are on email address B, so they have either blanket banned any account on my IP or they have literally searched for any accounts associated with my paypal email and banned those too out of spite!
So, I've lost access to TWO lots of BF4, with Premium purchased and bunch of other games, all for having the audacity to ask for a refund for a service purchased to play one game, of which about one hour of actual total gameplay was played.
I have evidence of the whole chain of events and some recorded chat transcripts with support, which by the way make sure that your entire transcript vanishes when they end the chat, wouldn't want any exposure of these unscrupulous behaviours and policies now, would we?? I'm going to make as much noise about this as possible, people need to know the kind of petty and childish company they are dealing with.
