But can't I buy the Xbox One version and play it on backwards compatibility with my series X and just play the older version that should work right?

@snOOziieIt should, yes.
However I would also recommend you consider the Gold or Ultimate Editions of the game, since they both include the "cross-gen bundle" that will grant you access to both the XBox One and XBox S/X versions of the game in one purchase.
- ElliotLH4 years agoHero+@carsono311 Don't think you've seen the post yet, but the cross-gen bundle has now been added to the digital standard edition.

- ElliotLH4 years agoHero+@carsono311 Awesome 😀 Really good news in my opinion.
- carsono3114 years agoSeasoned Ace@ElliotLH Indeed. Really good move there and I am glad they did it.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@ElliotLH I'm glad you're glad!
I spunked the extra on Gold specifically for the cross gen bundle, it now appears I didn't need to..... - ElliotLH4 years agoHero+@Trokey66 That would admittedly be a downside. Probably be a faff but could you get a refund for the Gold one?
