Game forcefully takes away my squad lead.

This happened way too many times at this point so I can't keep quiet about it. This happens so often, and I do not understand why.

Randomly someone places a Request Order, and no matter what I do, the timer goes to 0 and the game takes away my lead. It's frustrating and unfair because even though I have an order in place already, someone puts another request, and the game ignores all my previous orders that have been completed just to give the lead to a random joe.

I don't know if this is a bug or one of those bull**** EOMM patents that EA has, but it shouldn't work like that. If I got the lead and I'm actually doing my job as a squad leader, game has no right to take it away just because it wants to.

    @UP_LordPlumber I think every BF had that, I’ve kicked many a squad mate who constantly asked for orders (that nobody follows unless they want to anyways) when I thought they were being unreasonable. At least in previous games we could kick… not in 2042 though. I do like that it switches squad lead if you don’t offer any orders, that’s new. Unfortunately you’ll always run into the jerks who try and take it sometimes.

    Yeah I find it very annoying too, I also have difficulty at times marking the flags I click on them and nothing happens, very frustrating.

    The thing is that this is a bug. If you fail to click because of the bad UI, then fine, it is your 'fault'. But the game often gives you the countdown and whatever you do (giving the same order again by toggling the currently selected flag or changing the order to anther flag) it will still keep counting down and then assigning a new squad lead.

    Another thing is that the game takes you selecting a flag you go to as a 'request order'. At times when I am not the squad leader I am also in the habit of marking the flags I go to (as I am squad lead 90% of the time because anyway) and this also seems to count as 'request order', even if this was not my intention.

    But true, the first bug is much more annoying and that is the game ignoring you giving orders and just keeps counting down regardless.

    It's bizarre to me that you can't seem to mark flags further away (like marking D from A or B on Redacted) because there's others in the middle. I should be able to mark it from the Map (either by hitting M or on the deploy screen). 

    It's most frustrating getting the prompt to select something while I'm either in a downed state and trying to help mark guys but or setting up my deployment and not able to do anything.

    I also appreciate that "defending" a point only lasts for so long, but I really think it should renew itself at least a couple times.

    My post on this got deleted. Would be nice if I never had to deal with being squad leader. I used to love it. This game makes me want to walk away until it's removed.

    Q > Place Order > Click objective.

    -OR-

    Q > Change Order > Click new objective.

     

    Or is part of your point that this method takes too long and you're likely to die while doing it, because that's been my experience, heh.  If your head's not on a constant swivel, you become a bullet sponge.
