Just left another game for the same reason as i left the last 3 games. you can shoot a whole clip on an enemy, well aimed, only getting 2 or 3 hitmarkers, the enemy turns around, 1 or 2 bullets and i’m dead while i was reloading. dice/ea, this is a core issue in an fps game. Plz fix it cause it makes the game unplayable. I’m not the only one having this problem. Its frustrating!! Makes me wanna t-bag someone this is gameplay of myself not getting hit registration. How to fix that people have ping differences from a few ms to several seconds? I imagine they try these things in a controlled environment at Dice, and therefore release the game. Because it has worked for them. But how are they going to compensate for everything and every possible connection that people have in the world. Take a lag switch for example, how can you compensate for it? Don't want to believe that it's just bad programming, because then everything should be the same class.

@SomberAlmond7 The solution is..... more battlefield 3 and bad company 2 maps instead of stupid unrealistic new maps.

@Mackstan71 Once in while i still have some issues but nothing compared to what it was a year ago. Back then the game was unplayable.I jumped back in season 3 started to play rush and i must say i'm having fun with the game. when you're in a good team with a good squad i feel like i'm playing bf3 sometimes, and bf3 was the best fps experience i ever had with a game.It still has a long way to go but i think the next battlefield game will be 100% better than 2042...

I started this thread a year ago, and i must say that the hit registration problems have been fixed (ps5). I no longer have consistent problems and the game is playable.So thank you for fixing this issue!

Agreed @cornybbq2 ,This is a massive problem for most of the players still and needs urgent fix for the game to be worthwhile coming back to and play it more...One of the reasons for the bullet sponging we are many to observe may be to the fact that EA actually have not set up sufficient servers in proximity of the players geographic locations. Ake for what we have heard feedback on so far: No servers for South America, no servers for South Africa, no servers for the Middle East, no servers for ANZ, no servers to cover the Asia Pacific region Singapore, India... (think though we have servers in Japan?).But as EA/DICE have very conveniently removed the function for us to have any server browser in the game, we dont know with absolute certainty our own latency to the server we may be thrown onto and we have zero visibility either to the latency on the players also on the same server...We do however have some insights into the current state, as aka in the Portal we can see the latency to the various Portal servers that we have ability to join for our gaming experience. And here I have aka many servers in the 120-180ms range, and some even much much higher than that, namely above 180-200ms (I am based in CET region). With such poor connectivity quality, then bullet sponging is a consequence.

@lazicki88 Good that you also reported it. Hope they’ll fix it. My problem is, i only play portal. Conquest & rush of ages… i don’t like the new maps

The hit reg isn't the only questionable issue related to shooting, so is the smoke/dust that consistently appears in your view once you begin shooting at someone so that most of the time you can't maintain your aim and are forced to change your target.
Dunno if PvP is effected by this, but I and others constantly struggle with this in PvE modes.

@BigShotttWouldn’t know about PvE, don’t play it. I did see a video on youtube where the guy thinks that crowded places & smoke are causing the poor hit registration…

@CyberDyme Portal was supposed to be our server Browser, and persistent lobbies. But they removed progression from portal. 😒

@CyberDyme & others who are interested. These are the current worldwide server locations for Battlefield 2042, as of 07:00 GMT Tuesday, 21st December 2021.
Most, if not all, are 'AmazonAWS' servers. I have never come across a peer server in Battlefield 2042, unlike CoD in which they are regularly used as a fallback.

Would be interesting to hear from players based in Brazil, South Africa and Australia what ping they have on the servers they create themselves in Portal, as that should be default then be placed on a server park in their own geographic proximity. That did not appear to be the case the first weeks after launch but great progress if enabled now.

@CyberDymeThe source is my XR500 router.

When a game connects to online services, it pings known servers which subsequently light up on the map.
P.S. Right click the image and 'Open in a new tab' for full size.
P.P.S. If I create a Portal server, it is hosted on the south UK server "ec2-35-177-74-41.eu-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com" which is the closest to me. It's a 10ms ping.
