The patch notes are not 100% clear but just in case:
Please let the Casper drone continue to be able to destroy other gadgets just like the MAV in older games. It is ok if it cannot bother vehicles anymore but let it still be able to do fun stuff on enemy gadgets.
@UP_HawxxeyeI’d read that the drone won’t spot infantry anymore which is crazy. Literally crazy, like certifiable. If it’s only useful to spot vehicles and nothing else, it will be worse than how they did Boris. It will eliminate the only useful aspect of the specialist. The patch notes say it will still work to spot infy. It is clear BTW about the EMP, from the patch notes:
“To achieve this, we are increasing the time before a vehicle can be hacked, and we are also removing the EMP functionality from Casper’s OV-P Recon Drone, going forward this will now be focused more towards spotting infantry and vehicles.”
It was fun to go air to air against other drones to hack, I guess that’s gone as well. Sigh.
EMP removal is a big nerf for a mid tier specialist ability.
Hopefully it'll get buffed some other way.
First they already nerfed the EMP effect of the drone and the grenades to vehicles together with Rao’s hacking abilities, and now they take away the drone’s EMP effect completely. SMH

In fact, they should've left Casper's drone alone because it was never an issue.
All the gadgets should be getting buffed instead of nerfed. The Soflam for instance and Rao.
These few changes among the actual meaningful changes feel like change for the sake of change.
Technically, in the actual BF game, Caspers drone would be flying faster.
