- @LlamaWithKatana I'm so glad I got him T1 months ago as I knew he'd get his turret nerfed (rightfully so), but didn't think it'd be this bad. The changes to spotting targets and not targeting behind walls is good, but everything else is a bit too much that it's now garbage lol.
Boris is literally just a regular trooper, with now a weak turret, that only truly works properly if you're close to it, but ain't worth using anymore. Ah well. boris was a bit cheap. i think i got banned for using his turret.
I have been wondering for a while how they'll go about adjusting T1 for when they change the specialists. I'm just waiting for them to sort the specialists out with the next core feedback before I go for T1 on any of them since I imagine a lot of their gadgets and how they play will change with that.
I think the whole point is that its useless now. It was too powerful and low skill before but it's literally the identity of the specialist so its the best option they had really. I just wish they had a mode where the specialists could be turned off for people who don't want to have to deal with their endless spotting abilities and easy to use mechanics.

Personally i found the ranger to be a much bigger issue in-game compared to boris' turret. A round of almost any smg/AR destroys the turret. Ranger takes several rounds, and can move.
I do also wonder though, with the nerfing of several abilities and all this changing of vehicles, we may end up with T1's taking significantly longer. Im doing boris now and can see just how much it has slowed down since the nerf. Vehicles being moved into slots that are almost impossible to get means you've got much less opportunity to level them up.- BR-DuaneDibbley4 years agoSeasoned Ace@techb00mer
The most severe problem with the turret was the spotting (even through walls!) it provided before, not so much the damage.
The ranger does not spot you and the main purpose was to act as a detraction, but it was slow and after the health was reduced, it was acceptable.
IMO, neither the sentry gun nor the ranger should be even in the game. They require as much skill as the V1 rocket or air strike in BF5 did: NONE and dying to or because of any of them just feels bad. - @Woodley97 The turret does nothing now. Boris might as well be taken out of the game

The range nerf on the turret is laughable. Renders it fricking useless.
This game is getting to the point where there is zero risk . And it feels to me like It’s all geared around players that want high k/d and zero threat, just player on player engagement where the youngest most agile players win.
The turret wasn’t an issue to deal with before. Now I put a turret down and it’s gone in three shots. Zero effort, no threat at all.
seriously, what’s the point in this game anymore if you can burp in any direction and stuff explodes.
they didn’t even nerf the see through walls feature. Which whilst handy, isn’t really needed.
Honestly, I seriously question the decision making process.
Just as squad controls in already along with persistent teams and continuous map rotations.
honestly I give up.
That's good. That thing and the entire idea about Boris in general sickens me and it is an extremely low skill and cheap tactic. Same applies to the Ranger, auto aim and wall hack by AI are not "fun" mechanics. They have no place in a PvP shooter at all. The entire playstyle of Boris focused on placing down the turret in a stupid spot and wait until someone showed up, how fun is that?
