If I remember rightly BF4 / BF1 both had 5 player squads then BFV went back to 4.
I personally wouldn't mind bigger squads but I don't think they will change BF2042 squad sizes at this stage

Larger squads would make teamwork much easier because with the current system we can't spawn on our squadmate if someone is under fire, or if a bird flies in their general direction 200 meters away ;-) so it artificially breaks up squads when squadmates have to spawn on a flag that is likely 150-200+ meters away. And as you said BF4 and BF1 had 5 man squads and all 3 of those games had better squad cohesion as a result.

But as I've mentioned before, I really would have liked to have had larger parties than 4. - PacNbowls2 years agoSeasoned Ace@RayD_O1 I do remember a glitch to get six man squads in 3 and 4, would be nice to see bigger squad sizes, but we brought that up to them since 3, never listened

@AnobixBattleBit has 8 player squads and it works fine (with 128+ players at least).
It can make it harder to capture a flag, but this can actually be an advantage. Fighting over flags becomes way more intense, it makes each flag feel like a battle on its own. In BattleBit fighting over a flag can take much longer time than in 2042, it is not just a case of killing a few enemies and capturing. You have to kill a lot of enemies and this requires many players working together. BattleBit has a 'epicness' to the fighting because of the intensity and 'brutality/chaos', which is missing from 2042.
Furthermore it makes 'lone-wolfing' more difficult - the chance of running into a larger squad is bigger. - nixRidge2 years agoNew Adventurer
2042 and any future Battlefield title that has a 128-player limit should definitely go back to the six player squads and squad-leader spawn only. I miss six player squads. Hell, maybe even eight.
Also, using the commorose should put text in the chat again, like in BF4. It's useless without it 😢 😢
@ragnarok013
Yeah I had forgotten about BF2 having 6 man squads.
I definitely agree we need larger squads especially now we have the 128 player mode.- Ai-Fluffy2 years agoSeasoned Ace
They don't want people playing as a team.
Team play bad as it puts off casual players.
We still can't even kick from squad.
When you are in a Party of 3 and enter the game it often puts the random 4th squad member in charge.
Platoons removed, only recently were you able to even attempt to join on mates if the squad was full. Oh and you can only do this AFTER they are in the game so you end up queuing. - Ai-Fluffy2 years agoSeasoned Ace

So so broke.
On discord with someone and they have made it to a good position asking me to spawn on them and the game blocks me as a sniper on the other side of a mountain is firing.
OR spawn on squad mate and insta death as they are been beamed by 20 infantry and a tank.
They need to remove this completely. It doesn't work and its been broken since day one.
